Here's my solution:
Bring up pitcher Rick Porcello from Lakeland. Who cares if the kid isn't even a year out of high school. His arm may be the best in the organization right now -- including every arm on the Tigers' major league roster. His 95 mph fastball, with command, is just what the Tigers need.
One kid can't do it alone, but maybe he will inspire some character from that Tigers clubhouse that has been missing since fall 2006.
The Tigers played with little or no emotion last year, and the 2-10 start this season shows there are no leaders. Who galvanizes the players with this roster when things are good and bad? A colleague of mine who covered the Tigers said the only two everyday Tigers with leadership qualities are Brandon Inge [YEAH YEAH] and Curtis Granderson [YEAH YEAH].
Tell me how a nine-hole hitting super sub and a guy still looking to prove last year wasn't a fluke get mega-millionaires to listen to them?
Maybe the Tigers have too many stars. Maybe they need more guys like Inge, Granderson and Clete Thomas, who play like they would do it for free. Chemistry is painfully lacking from this team each game. They play with no emotion.
I'm confident Miguel Cabrera will start to hit the cover off the ball. Placido Polanco worries me that he may not be the hitter he was. Magglio Ordonez looks close to busting out. Once Granderson is back the lineup will have a better feel to it. Even with the hitting bouncing back, the Tigers still have to live with average arms in the starting rotation and a bunch of minor league arms in the bullpen.
Justin Verlander looks great, but can't do it alone. The rest of the starters and bullpen look like they could lose every game they appear in right now.
Go ahead, push the Tigers panic button. You'll feel better. I do.
I see where you are coming from. This is an "ALL STAR" line up, but as of yet they have shown us they are an all star team and I agree, they don't seem to be playing with any emotion. I like some of your ideas, maybe you should give Jimbo a ring!

Anyone see the photo on the front page of the Press today?
Quite frankly, I really don't need to see a singed kitten...and you?
I thought it was odd that the television news covered the death of some of the kittens and while the others were spared.
I undertand and agree that pets are part of the family, but the general public does not need to know all of the information.

I wonder if the kitten story would have been featured had we not been bombarded with dog shelters being quarantinued, animal abuse charges from multiple locations, another horse shot (last fall I think?, the case is now in court).
It seems as if the hyped up is what they were after?

Madison Vorva and Rhiannon Tomtishen, both 12, started doing research last fall on endangered orangutans in Indonesia as part of their Bronze Award project. They discovered that the habitat of orangutans is being threatened by conversion of the land to the production of palm oil, which is an ingredient in Girl Scout cookies

Apparently, these two girls have stopped selling Girl Scout Cookies...

Where is my box of thin mints?

Now I am going to feel guilty when I eat my box tonight!
Swimsuit season does not start until the last box of Girl Scout cookies is out of the house. LOL

NOT ME:

Lisa Raycraft, director of funds development for Girl Scouts of the Huron Valley Council, said that ABC Bakers, which produces cookies sold by the council, has said it is committed to using palm oil grown on rehabilitated or previously cleared land rather than on land that is deforested specifically for palm oil production.

It's looking like a one-piece suit this year!!

naw, I am daring, I have the super sexy hot mama "Tankini"!
it's two parts, just because the top graces the upper part of the bottom doesn't mean it's not sexy. I even have the sexy little skirt that goes over the bottom half.....

Hubby told me I look like an old lady in it. I told him, Good, that means that guys won't try to hit on me when I am at the beach without him.

He doesn't need to know that I do actually wear the two piece when my girlfriends and I go to the beach and I only wear the Tankini when I have the boys with me..........

Did you have fun watching the drunks while you were sober? My older son is usually the DD as he doesn't drink. He tells me he sometimes has all he can do to keep from rolling on the floor! It's a riot.
Actually.. most of them were quite funny.. minus the one who got kicked out early. Was out dancing with friends, and he decided to join me. He backed up really quick when he got the 'redhead' look though. He was booted not long after that!

I had a couple of drinks, but made sure I stopped WELL before we had to leave. I was stone cold sober when we walked out the door about 1am. Did that on purpose. Mr. Neecer on the other hand.... he had to put a foot on the floor that night.. LOL!! Oh.. and he kept apologizing and had to get up to go to the bathroom every 3 minutes..

But we had a great time and most certainly go down to see that band again!
