Well everyone. I can honestly say I did absolutely nothing today and I stayed in my pj's until 5 pm today. I woke up at 8:30 with a headache and just couldn't shake it so I went back to bed at 2 woke up at 5 when the grand babies got here, showered and went and got pizza for supper, I didn't even cook. LOL I finally got the lazy day that I have wanted for so long and it felt so good. No the next two weekends are busy, busy so it is good I was able to rest up this weekend

mama knows wrote: Question for teachers, esp. special ed teacher. What do you think of a school system that denies an IEP for a 14-year-old boy who has been diagnosed with severe depression, aspergers, ADHD, sensory and motor issues, and also just spent 10 days in a psychiatric hospital? Well, I'm not a teacher but my 18 year old brother is Autistic. I can't understand why a teacher would turn away a boy like that. But I can sort of see it happening. I don't agree with it though. When I was in school, there was an autistic guy in class. They didn't want to deal with him so they let him color instead. Has the parent of that child protested?

Anyone hear about a computer program called " antiviris 2009"? Watch out it took my daughter and I about 5 hrs to get rid of it. It kind of mimiked the virus program I have for protection. It takes over any page you go to.

I never had, I looked it up after your warning, enough warning about it on google with removal advice etc. Although I use the same all the time, It's a good warning to put out there for others!!

I believe that is illegal! The government has rules about that.... check out this website : http://idea.ed.gov there are rules they MUST follow. Or they stand a chance of loosing Federal funding. You request in writing an IEP, they have 10 days to reply and 30 to do an evaluation, I believe that is the rule. Check it out to be sure. I don't know where you live and all the circumstances. I am a parent advocate for three special needs children and this website has helped me out a lot.

Yes, we have protested, and are meeting with a lawyer Tues. I have been dealing with this for nine years! Thanks for your input. Hope your brother is doing okay.

Glad to hear I'm not crazy. The school has been making me out to be a neurotic mother for nine years. I am meeting with a lawyer who has 25 years in special ed. law.
