OK well that is messed up... why would she not just leave them home with the 15yr old anyway? That is ridiculus. Why would the 15yr old be like "OK mommy... go gamble, we will wait here, no problem". People should have to go through testing to be allowed to raise children.

I think that she was just trying to make a couple bucks to pay for the high cost of Arby's. The 5 for 5.95 is now 5 for 6.95! Not to mention the astronomical price of a barrel of oil.
This mother is obviously the "nuts" or lack there of. She needs to do what is right and play on the internet like every other self respecting poker junkie. Leaving your kids in the car is sooo alchy...

Exactly...why not leave the kids at home w/ the 15 year old? That is so odd. It is much more dangerous to take them out of the house and leave them in the car @ 1:00 am instead of at home in their own beds. I can't imagine what she was thinking?

I agree. Obviously, she doesn't have much common sense.

What is the differnce if the kids are in the car or she left the fifteen year old at home with them or a motel or a campground? This is just another case of the man throwing around his weight.

This is another pathetic story. Why drag them along with her and leave them in the car? It's too bad some people don't know anything about being a parent.

obviously this is a mom with a gambling addiction she needs help , she probably feels she did nothing wrong because the 15 yr old was ther . but in reality she did do something wrong she put her greedy needs ahead of her children who at that age should of been at home sleeping and has anyone wondered this wher is the father ?

I wonder about the father. He may have been working or they may have been divorced. They are with him now. Either way, she did wrong by those children.

Another sorry excuse of a parent. What are people thinking. If you don't want to care for them then don't have them. So sad.

Obvious case of neglect! Another reason why this generation of kids are turning out wild. NO one is parenting.

....leaving your children in the car in a bar parking lot....and certainly, after the bar closes, driving home after a few drinks with those kids....they are both potentially pricey situations that could come full circle and cost more than the cash for drunk driving, or worse an accident that could take a life (or more)...
The best thing shouldve been to call the kids Dad, let him have them for the night, save a few bucks and at least take the kids out of harms way after the bars close!
Does this really surprise anyone that sees/hears things like this? As an individual I cant do much, maybe as a group, we could. Anyway you look at it, the kids are the losers here...a Mom that apparently doesnt care, a Dad thats not there...at least someone called 911 and the boys in blue did the right thing!

Thank you. I was just wondering the same thing. I have always understood it is legal to let a fifteen year old sibling to babysit. At least in the car she is within easy reach for an intelligent fifteen year old to be able to get her if she is needed. It's kind of weird to leave them in the car just play cards rather than home but how is it illegal if the fifteen year old is there?

I'm sorry but I don't care if there was a 15-year-old there. Obviously this woman is a selfish fool. People steal children after all.(It could happen) Also it is a crappy place for a child of any age to be at night. They should be safe at home in bed.

And the state (and George W B) expects those kids to pass the MEAP test, excel in school, and go to college... I wonder why our kids are SO messed up these days. Too many of the same stories.

Let's not make excuses for this lady. If it was a true gambling problem, she surely would not be playing a low level Texas Hold Em event at a bar. I agree with the help part, she needs help finding someone else to raise her children. I wonder what her level of intoxication was? I am sure she felt her kids only needed a couple of hours of sleep before going to school.
This type of behavior is unimaginable. Regardless of your situation in life, you are a complete selfish idiot if you would ever do this to children. Time to send her to prison for endangering the lives of children. At least she could play some poker with her fellow inmates. It may not be for money, but I am sure she could use a few smokes.

Oh, how lovely.. what a wonderful parent!(Insert sarcasm here for the daft).

We've got lovely ladies such as this running around claiming to be parents, yet many people here found it appropriate to break down on a woman trying to find some way to get through to her son about responsibility and lying.

Brilliant!
