Did you learn anything new this evening? My take on it I felt that Obama was clearer to understand and answered the questions "most" of the time. Example: The question from a gentleman in the audience "How will the bailout affect me?" McCain spoke of his record while Obama answered specifically in terms everyone can understand. What do you think? Tom Brokaw was a fine moderator in his efforts to stay on time, which is impossible to do.

When both avoided a question completely and went off on their own tack, I decided not to watch any more of the debate.

I actually didnt really care for this particular format. I thought the idea was nice but there wasn't enough time to rebuttle. It would have been great for more audience participation as well.

Obama seemed to answer the questions clearly and McCain seemed to ramble on about his record, and didn't answer most questions directly. I didn't like the negative comments by McCain. They sounded childish, and I wanted to hear him answer the questions, not be negative. At one point, Obama even said I'm sure the audience doesn't want us politicians pointing fingers.

I thought the debate was good. The post debate coverage is so biased that it makes me want to spit! It is sooo unbelievable. Anyway, I did laugh at how many times McCain said "my friends" Obama has his querks too. Only four weeks to listen to the media on this. Praise the Lord. Enough is enough!

really kind of a yawner. Although when McCain mentioned being on Naval ships with nuclear power and they were safe, I couldn't help but wonder if it was connected to his skin cancer. Not a debate issue, but I found that moment to have stuck out the strongest.... just thinking out loud.

I heard Obama answering the majority of the questions. The way McCain speaks it's as though his mind isn't in tune with his tongue. Until he's praising himself. Then he's a lyricist. Regarding the question about individual sacrifice; McCain led with some babbling that didn't answer the question. Obama suggested we think about our energy usage and stated he would like to double the Peace Corps. Neither gave us suggestions for wartime efforts.

I wish McCain would have hit that moron harder, with Obamas lack of a record, I think it is good McCain touts his years of experience as a senator. The only thing Obama has ever done is be a community rabble rouser making trouble, running for senate against no one, and spending less than 2 years in US senate, and a long record of hanging around with losers.

McCain stated that solving the Social Security Entitlements problem will be easy. That'll earn him some support.

It was pretty much a toss up but I did get tired of McCain saying " my friends " and a big goof when he refered to Obama as " that one ". There was not nearly enough time for questions from the audience which ruined the town hall format.
