This new book really seems to have caused a lot of excitement on the part of both sides. It is a good example of how two different sets of eyes can view the same facts or rather circumstances in such polarized ways that it leaves the average Joe scratching his head wondering "what the heck." But that seems to be the art of politics in the 21st century--spin, spin, spin. In some respects, it is almost like watching the OJ trial where the actual truth of the matter can be so distorted by crafty PR people and lawyers that most of us up end up confused and therefore vote with our hearts instead of our heads.

This is why people turn out for elections in records numbers--NOT. Too much b____S______ turns people off. Both sides have an equal share.

A couple of things about this book. First, it will debut at the top of the New York Times bestseller list, but that is due to bulk sales and not individual sales. Conservative groups have been ordering the book in bulk to boost its prominence and get the news media to focus on it. The NYT bestseller list will have it at the top, with a symbol that indicates that the sales figure shouldn't be trusted because of the bulk sales.
The second thing about this book is that it is nothing but a hit job. I saw a representative of a media watchdog group on TV last night discussing the book and he pointed out that in the first chapter, for instance, 9 of the first twelve footnotes were things the author himself had previously written about Obama. When you have someone using their own quotes it doesn't say much about the truthfulness of the allegations being made.

Corsi is an idiot, but the allegations seem to be accurate in many (not all) of the instances.

But, if you go to the New York Times best seller lists online you can click on a link that takes you to a page where they discuss the books on the list. And in that article they mention that the book will have a dagger icon next to it denoting that bulk sales were included in the ranking. Now a question for you. Is the book so thorougly documented when some of the documentation consists of things the author had written previously? Is that really breaking new ground or is it just a rehashing of old allegations?

I have never read "Obama Nation," but I have read McCain's book, "Why Courage Matters." It's one of the best books I've ever read. I now realize why Obama WOULD NOT be the best guy in the Oval Office.

Illegals kill Americans everyday and Bush puts our border guards in jail. Iraq has killed 4,130+ Americans, this is keeping Americans safe? Bush has built his career on the dead bodies of Americans.

Do you know how many soldiers died during the Clinton Administration? More than 4130...a time of so-called "peace."

Bush has done nothing to secure our borders.

Why don't we just say it--the thing that scares most of these people is that he is BLACK!! I can't believe the number of people I know who proport to be fine Christians, loving toward all, until the idea of a person of color(any)being President. Perfectly logical people are now worried 'the blacks' are going to take over(really!). Just when you think we've come a long way....

And your point is what? If it weren't for Iraq no soldiers would be dead? The problem with your 'facts' is that they reflect the TOTAL number of military casualties during Clinton--4120 is only the number dead in Iraq. I guess you must worship Bill Cinton, after all, he kept us safe for 8 years. What do you think Bush has done to thwart attacks? It's simply a case of when--when they decide to attack they will--this administration is all about show and very little action. If they did anything to stop an attack you can bet we'd all being hearing about it--daily. JNH wrote: <quoted text> Oh I don't know, he has protected us since 9-11 with no more attacks. The concerns about Obama have nothing to do with his skin color. They have everything to do with his secretive past, his lack of transparency and attempts to distance himself from anything and everything that he at one time said he stood for. He's a worse flip-flopper than John Kerry. Stop making this a racial issue. If he were white, my concerns would be no different. The fact is, he's been labeled more liberal than Ted Kennedy. That should scare everybody.

If you're looking for excuses not to vote for Obama, then this book is for you. But, it you're looking for factual information about Obama, then look elsewhere. The website www.politifact.com which examines the truthfulness of candidate's statements and advertising has done a brief report on Corsi's book: www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2008... And, the article has a link to the Obama campaign's 40 page response to Corsi's smears and lies. The link to that article is: http://obama.3cdn.net/a74586f9067028c40a_5km6...
