Y ou ar e just so "Perfect" (sic). Hell I snuck out a few times my kids did the same sometimes they got caught sometimes they didnt , same as i did. I didnt graduate with honors i just graduated period that was good enough for me, i hated school. even after the army i couldnt bring myself to go back to school . but you probably were the "perfect" child and "never" did wrong.thats too bad you never experimented with being free just did as you were told i am sure. lucky you?<quoted text>No they're not perfect but they know better than to be out all night. When I was this kids age I wasn't perfect and did some stupid things too, but at 4:30am I was just getting up and getting ready for work at 5:00 am for a couple hours before school. Then going to school and working hard enough to graduate with honors, then back to work for a couple more hours and back home to do homework and to bed on time so I could get up and do the same thing the next day. I was raised to be responsible and still I had a great time with friends, but never needed a curfew because I was too busy to miss sleep.

Now to the real matter my condolences to all that grieve the losses and I can bet that the driver wishes it was he who died.

1 i disagree-first of all in the eyes of the law the driver IS considered an adult(18yr), and while he may not have "willfully and knowingly got behind the wheel drunk", he did willfully and knowingly drive recklessly too fast and that is something an 18yr knows is dangerous. He took a gamble and lost. Yes an 18yr old is still immature and more impulsive than an older adult, that's why even though i feel both dangerous drivers are equally guilty and responsible for the death they caused, i would support the younger one getting a lighter sentence based on age/immaturity. |

3 First off I would like to say that I am sorry for the Smith family. Second off Orangeville parent this is exactly how rumors get started, this is NOT about Deb and her "married boyfriend" it's about these three boys so try to stay focused! I know Deb and what you call "her married boyfriend" very well, and I can tell you that you are wrong. I know for a FACT that as soon as they found out about the accident that they left, and come on do you think they are going to go 100mph on the way back and take more lives? How stupid are you? There was already one life lost, we don’t need more! These post really show the ignorance of people did you all forget about when you were a teenager? Every one of us has done something that someone else won’t agree with or think is stupid, and all of us have those moments of doing something stupid it just happens that in this case a life was lost a young life. I think everyone on here that is quick to judge needs to take a look at their life and all the skeletons in their closets. Orangeville parent are you sure that you know Deb? The Deb that I know cares for everyone that she meets, not just herself. |

2 I think the worst decision I made as a teen was slacking off in school. I NEVER endangered the lives of my friends by driving reckless or anything of the such. I never stole anything. And when I say took her time getting home I don't mean driving fast moran, I mean the second she heard her son was in a reck she should of left to come home. Not waited until she heard it was bad. And the point of all this is maybe if she had morals, values, respect for others, then maybe she would of been able to teach that to her son.And maybe he would of made better decisions. There is good in everybody and I have seen the good in Deb too, but I've seen the bad more than the good. If you read all the comments in this blog, you find I am not the only one stating these things.... |

I believe this is not about Deb but more about the accident. Though the views about her may or may not be correct, at least stay on topic.

I certainly do not understand the mind set of some people. Why are you sitting there pointing fingers at Chad, his mom and Nick's parents. And what gives you the right saying that these boys were out stealing car stereo's. Stop concentrating on how BAD you say these people are and start concentrating no the fact that Chad, Justin and the entire Delton High School lost a friend and that Nick's parents lost their son. Nick was loved by many and will be missed by all. My heart goes out to Chad, Justin and their families.

1 So does that mean if I drive around with someone of the oppsite sex that I am sleeping with them? NO I dont think so! Also miss/mr perfect do you really think sheltering your kids is going to keep them safe? I bet it makes them more wild than a teen who is not so sheltered! I would really like to know where it was that you got your "facts", because mine I got straight from the horses mouth! As I said they left as soon as they found out, did you know that it takes about two hours to drive back? So with that being said no they were not back at 7:45. |

I am Chad's cousin and I can't physically be there for him and it kills me. You can't even know the pain that he felt when he found out his friend was killed. He has to live with this everyday for the rest of his life! We can't begin to explain either of the 3 involved choices. I don't believe that pointing fingers and calling names will change anything. We need to physically take action. |
|
Thanks so much! Chad is my cousin and he will have to live with this the rest of his life. My Aunt his mother is also having to live with this for the rest of her life. Trust me she is not a bad parent and I thank you for your support. No words can express the amount of sorrow that I feel for every single person involved in this! |
