Did you not read the above story??? Nick was a GREAT kid who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe everyone should show a little respect for his family...and for human life. Who knows, maybe the next story will be someone close to you or your family!!!!!

I can not believe that someone would find humor in such a tragic story. What is wrong with you people. Obviously you put no value on a human life at all. There is something seriously wrong with people who act like this. What a sick sense of humor.

You are right their families do read this. My cousin was one of the ones involved in this tradgedy. Kids will be kids and do things they shouldn't but remember you too may one day be a parent facing the fears that your child may one day be involved in something like this. Please respect the people involved and their family members. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Kids will be kids!! No matter what we say or do sometimes they think they know better then we do!!This young man was a wonderful and kind kid!! His parents are heartbroken and you people have nothing better to do then run your mouths!!! Wait intell the day something happens to your child (God forbid) then you'll see the hurt and pain this can cause!!! Not just for the parents, and family but the whole town we just lost a great kid!!!!I know I will take some extra time to hug and kiss my teenage daughters tonight!!! Your in our prayers!!!!

What a shame! This sort of thing happens all too often and ultimately the response is the same: Kids will be kids. This attitude is why this continues to happen. Maybe someday, the adults will wake up, change their caviler attitude and this will have an impact on the kids.

my heart does go out to these families, I pray for comfort for the families that have now had their world torn apart, and I also pray that the ignorant people who make such crude comments will be enlighten before they find themselves on the other end of these stories, to most people that is all these are, stories, but this is devestating real life to someone and a little compassion is what is need not stupid comments, you know the saying, if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all !!

In response to your comment,"maybe someday, the adults will wake up". Nick's parent are wonderful individuals. Every free moment they have is spent as a family. This accident was the result of what you stated about kids will be kids. Thoughts and prayers to the family. Lets all take a moment and be thankful for what we have. Now is not the time to critize others.

i agree- it's interesting that the comments from a story yesterday about the 10yr old killed by drunk driver have people asking for the death penalty for him with no sympathy for his family or what he is going thru, but an 18yr old-legally adult- person makes a conscious choice to drive recklessly too fast and kills someone and there's nothing but sympathy and "kids will be kids" about him. Chad knows driving recklessly is a dangerous risk to himself and others-just as the person driving while impaired-but they both made the choice and have to live with the consequences.

In Response to Beans Comment (Wonderful parents? their son was out at 4:30 am. I doubt he was on the way to a job.) They did not know Nick was out at 4:30 in the morning they were out of town! Nick made a bad choice unfortunatly. As for Chad he is paying the ultimate price for what happened!! Im sick of people putting the parents down and running thier mouths about these great boys!!! Sometimes we make bad choices there is nothing we can do to change what happened, just be supportive to the family's and try to explain to the other kids why we need to make better choices!!!!

Losing a child is devastating. A part of life you count on everyday is ripped from you and your family. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING helps to cope with it. And as much as those who have lost a child says they have found a way to live with it, they are lying to themselves. The life and memories for that child stop in time and there is only loneliness.
I know, my child was taken from us just north of Delton on M-43 four years ago Sunday.
How it happened, who it happened with, and what time it happened means nothing, but it did happen.
NOTHING HELPS EASE THE LOSS!

Prayers and thoughts to the family. You only have the Love for each other to help you through these difficult times.
