GRPD traffic cop hit by car

This is just yet another proof of just how great drivers are in GR. Our licensing system is way way too easy and I am sure many of your readers will agree with me that at least once a week we witness some kind of an idiot doing something completley illegal on the road. On a similar note, can we please start pulling drivers over which for some reason do not understand the signs on freeways stating to KEEP RIGHT AND PASS LEFT. Yet they stay in left lane often causing traffic jams and/or worse. I ve seen it many time where after several miles of driving behind these "LEFT LANE OWNERS" how the drivers behind them become so irate where they merge into right lane, fly down and have to cut off theperson that believe the LEFT LANE is their PRIVATE PROPERTY. Please state police, start issuing tickets for these incosideret idiots.

And Jesse Jackson will come along and say that you have a "right" to be in the "left" lane, and spout off a bunch of useless statistics about minorities being pulled over ten times as much as non-minorities, etc.

Just get your *****s out of the left lane. That's why there are traffic laws. If you don't obey them, you get a ticket...even Barney Fyfe knew that!

Wholeheartedly agree with Wow's assessment.

What I find worse about our road hogs are the tailgaters. Many a time, I've been in the right (slow) lane doing the speed limit and what do I see?

Someone (usually SUV or mini van) riding my bumper ... and a clear zone in the left lane. Are they about to turn off? Nooooooo ... ride my bumper for 5+ miles.

Please state and city police ... ticket these folks.

Ok, hear ya on the fast lane owners, but this is a guy that refused to turn around and instead hit a police officer with his car.****? Hope he felt it was worth it. What a jerk, the driver is probably a teenager.

If they are going the speed limit they can stay in the left lane if they please!

Nobody should have to get out of the way for a criminal (speeders and tailgaters).

Yet another liberal moron that thinks 1) they know law when they don't and 2) it never applies to them.

Cruising along in the left lane is illegal I would suggest looking it up in the Michigan Vehicle Code but it wouldn't matter since laws don't apply to liberals anyway, unless they are for wealth redistribution or reduced criminal and civil penalties.

I actually saw what happened yesterday...
The police officer WAS NOT HIT by the car.

As the man was turning around, as she ordered him to, she decided to try and grab at his car. She missed, tripped over her own feet and went down to her knees. She wasn't hurt, and he didn't hit her with his car.

I sent a letter to Woodtv explaining what actually happened but they apparently don't like to report the truth.

And for the record- last time I checked you don't stand in the middle of the street and scream to try to direct traffic. You need to get out there point people in the right direction and be polite but firm about it.

When was the last time you checked? Seriously... I love how people who have no idea about police work (other than what they watch on Cops or CSI) try and tell us how to do our job...

And... just for clarification - he DID hit her with the car and was arrested for it. It's fairly simple - obey the officer directing traffic, don't hit them and you won't get arrested.

Its the cop's fault for wearing a badge....why would anyone want to do that job anymore....with our sue happy society....that job has went from helping people to "covering your own a#@".

Just for clarification were you there as an eye witness? If not shut your piehole! Cops are trained to lie and cannot be trusted anymore. You seem to forget who you work for. If a tax payer asks you to do something within reason do it you work for us!

Wow...Really....Cops are trained to lie.....I think you need to FOIA all of the State Police Academy's training outlines....or any department's policy and training guidelines....that is a serious accusation.....I doubt you will find any Lying 101 on those documents.....A cop should complete any reasonable request???? Where was you standing....on his bumper? It's a natural instinct to put your hands out if something is going to hit you to avoid being hit. When an officer is standing in the middle of the road with a shotgun...that should tell you to stop RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE, not drive around them. No wonder we have so many " IDIOTS " that run when an officer says " STOP ". It's called RESPECT..and pay attention when driving or don't drive at all.

Sounds like your well trained in stupidity. The court system gave cops the right to lie and made it illegal for citizens to lie to a cop. Asking a cop to wash your winshield in not within reason of job duties get your fat lazy **** up and do it yourself. Those sounds in your head may be a mental problem causing you to imagine things about others. The only run in I've had with cops is when they wouldnt investigate who kicked in my garage door. wouldnt take pictures of the footprints, wouldnt look for fingerprints, basically did nothing. I told them since they wouldnt cooperate they were my first suspect. Then I told them to get the eff of my property or I will be filing treaspassing charges because they were no longer welcome on my property.
