Metallica: Death Magnetic

FINALLY!!! Metallica sounds like Metallica again! Have you heard the album? What's your opinion?

What track do you like best? I like Cyanide.

It's an interesting mix of old and new. While i find it to be a solid CD overall...it's not great. If this CD was Metallica's first release, i dont think it would really get any airplay and would be considered mediocre, recycled, pseudo-thrash...

That being said, i do enjoy it..mainly because i grew up listening to old school Metallice (pre-black)...and it harkens me back...now if you want old school thrash done right...check out the latest from Kreator or Testament.:)

haven't heard it yet myself. going to see them in january!

Yeah, a track or two does have a "ST Anger" feel to them. But most of it is old school.

I really think it depends on what you consider old school. I dont get the same feeling i did when i first heard Ride The Lightning or even And Justice For All. Too me it feels like a cross between Load/Reload and the Black Album with a little AJFA thrown in for good measure.

Very much like Master of Puppets if your asking. I like it (don't love it)I have already bought tickets for three shows. Very happy to see they have come back to the USA for a tour. Was really dissapointed seeing they were only touring on the other side of the globe for so long.

They truly need to get rid of Bob Rock once and for good.
