I agree with the union stronghold also. Unions just don't work anymore. They are out for themselves not the employees as it was back when they were started. The taxes on business in this state, I somewhat agree. Remember last year when they couldn't balance the budget as our state congress couldn't get along and do what is best for this state. They had to get rid of the SBT, and what exactly did Congress replace it with? A bigger mess, that has hurt small business. Other than that, I don't know enough about it to comment further. Me bad neecer wrote: <quoted text> Ahhh.. but here's the fun part. The SOCC recommends the pay raises. The legislature gets to vote to except or deny. She really doesn't get a say.. unless of course she decides to give it back. I've yet to see where she does that. I've HEARD that she does that..but haven't seen anything in black and white. No she didn't create NAFTA or CAFTA. You can thank Bush 41 for starting it and Clinton for signing it. But also look at the amount of taxes that are on businesses in this state. We have become VERY unfriendly for businesses in Michigan. Let's also look at the union stronghold we have here that they don't have in the south. THAT has cost us too because Toyota doesn't want to have to deal with the UAW. Do you blame them? Oh, and some of the jobs that have left Michigan? Not all of them have left the country, just the state.

Okay so how can we find out in black in white if she took a pay raise. We might want to start with the freedom of information act. <quoted text> The last pay raise went through. But the real question is.. is she giving it back like she's claiming she is? Here's what I found on CAFTA. Granted it's from wiki.. so take it for what it's worth... but it wasn't just Bush.. but Congress as well - BOTH the House and Senate. Makes you really wonder who's looking out for us huh? The agreement is a treaty under international law, but not under the United States Constitution. In the US, laws require majority approval in both houses, while treaties require two-thirds approval in the Senate only. Under U.S. law, DR-CAFTA is a congressional-executive agreement. The United States Senate approved the DR-CAFTA on June 30, 2005 by a vote of 54–45,[1] and the United States House of Representatives approved the pact on July 27, 2005 by a vote of 217–215, with two representatives not voting.[2] For procedural reasons, the Senate took a second vote on CAFTA on July 28 and the pact garnered an additional vote from Sen. Joe Lieberman—who had been absent on June 30—in favor of the agreement.[3] The implementing legislation became Public Law 109-053 when it was signed by President George W. Bush on August 2, 2005. The Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Costa Rica have also approved the agreement. They are all the current members of DR-CAFTA. On March 1, 2006, El Salvador led the way as CAFTA went into effect for that country, following completion of all necessary steps, including delivery of signed Treaty copies to the Organization of American States (OAS), which was the final step. On April 1, 2006, Honduras and Nicaragua joined El Salvador as countries that have fully implemented the agreement. On May 18, 2006, Guatemala's Congress ratified DR-CAFTA and on July 1, 2006, the treaty went into effect for that country. The Dominican Republic implemented the agreement on March 1, 2007. In the referendum on October 7, 2007, the voters of Costa Rica narrowly backed the free trade agreement, with 51.6 percent of "Yes" votes.[4] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_American...

Other than use the media to get elected, and show up at large venues to get great photo-ops for more little punks to think he is all so good. Obama is a flake, even if he was a right wing republican.

I couldn't help but notice that almost immediately after Jennifer got re-elected, she either disappeared from active duty or was put on the DL list for an indefinite time period.
I have never seen someone do so little for so long.
Thank God for Kwame, at least he got her sorry a_____ to workin'!!

He showed his Muslim roots by passing over Hillary in favor of Biden. Ms Hillary got 19 millions votes, but theres one very good reason she could never be on the ticket. All good followers of Allah know that women are mere chattel, something to be owned, and if they're bad, beaten.

However, the gripe on here is that GRANHOLM hasn't straighten it out. Drawing down on GRANHOLM, not the Legislature, now isn't it. Lets face it though. Engler did authorize and even instigate all the borrowing while he was introducing the legislation to lower the taxes on business and the wealthiest of this State. To go along with all that the People of the State were being told what great financial condition the State was in and wanted more and more from the State to do more....like more (business) tax breaks and subsidies. Really? Borrowing? That's a fact? Huh, I thought Michigan's constitution required a balanced budget each year (thank God). Engler must have waived his evil magic wand to get around that one. ps It's MEDICAID that is sinking the state budget. MEDICAL WELFARE.$1 copays for lazy people. NOT TAX BREAKS for job producing businesses.

NOT TAX BREAKS for job producing businesses. All a balanced budget means is having the amount of money necessary to pay obligations. Just like with the private citizen having debt though with enough income to meet all the financial obligations INCLUDING debt. And your ignorance is astounding if you believe all those on Medicaid are "lazy people". I know people who have worked VERY HARD, harder than any desk jockey, that were so severely injured on the job and lost everything because of it being forced onto public assistance. There are a great many on public assistance what private industry has caused and does not want to be responsible for even though they, private industry, caused. Besides that Medicaid is a Federal mandate on the several States.

So, I dunno folks, to be honest, I walked my dog, walked past the signs at 2 polling places, and never even knew we had anything coming up, or I would have voted. Hell how the heck, they sneak this stuff in, it's not as if I miss tons of news. seems fishy, I shaint not be a **** Tracey to know when this stuff happens. So after you walked by and saw there was a vote about something did you tell your dog to sit & stay and go find out what the voting was for? And CAST your vote? Or just go home and complain that nobody called you personally and told you what's going on....?
