I looked at the September calendar this morning, and stopped on 9/11. I'm stuck on how to best honor all those people who were killed on that day. I don't know, it just seems like I should do something. They all deserve it!

It's hard to say. A large memorial is appropriate, but so are individual ones, too.

Part of me wants to remember, but part of me wants to move on and try not to think of what happened on that day.

Anybody who chooses to honor this day might do it best by honoring it in their own way. One can hope that 9/11 of 2008 fares better that 9/11 of 2001.

It's hard for me to move on. I lost my Dad in T-1. Not a day goes by that I cry. I am 17 and I always want to remember.

DAD I LOVE YOU AND I MISS YOU.

It's a tough day for me as well. I lost one of my good friends in the WTC that day as well. His name is Stephen P. Cherry.

I guess we should remember in our own way, because we will never forget where we were at that moment.

Love and miss you Steve, and you'd be mighty damn proud of your family. I know you are!

I know it's a day I will never forget. In a classroom with a few students. Another student ran into the room and told us to turn on the TV. It was right after the first plane. We sat and watched as the second tower was hit, live on TV. It was like we thought "this can't be happening". It probably had a similar impact like I can imagine my Grandparents remembered Pearl Harbor, or my Parents remember the day JFK was shot.

If anyone is interested, there is an all day salute that goes on every year since 2002 at the GR Ford Museum. It is held by the Police Departments, Fire Departments, EMTs and Boy Scouts of America. There is a flag raising around 7:15 am and a continuous salute (held in 30 minute intervals by these groups) until the flag is lowered at 8:00.

I am so very sorry for you loss. Yes, you will remember. The good, loving things. Not that hate filled action of that day.

I still try to make some sense out of that. I woke up got my coffee and started to do my morning reading. Being a Ham radio operator, I turned my local radio on and heard two Holland High school teachers talking about this horrific event that had just happened. I turned the tv on and thougth for all the world I was watching a Irwin Allen movie.

Like I said, I'm still trying to make sense out of it all and not doing a very good job of it.

The very best way to honor those of 9/11 would be to swiftly repeal the Patriot Act, return Habeus Corpus, repeal the FISA Bill and secure our borders.

I think we should remember it by watching the attacks again, the ones that are 'too hard' for us to see.

Maybe, just maybe, we could get the people of this country together again in our fight against our enemies.

I agree that we should air the attacks again on t.v. Americans have a short memory, and the Islamofascist terrorists do not.
