So do you prefer Rats for pets? Brat
Yes, I do. I don't have a big enough yard for a dog and my brother is alergic to cats so I don't want him to be miserable when he visits. Rats make very good pets. Mine are all trained. They are like little dogs. They come when I call them and they like getting the same type of affection as dogs and cats.

I noticed all of a sudden she was not a know it all any longer. I think someone hit the nail on the head with her disription. hahahahaha. I usually skip over any posts that she makes. They really offer nothing and and it's usually a waste of time. Anyone who posts 16 hours out of thier day has more problems than I want to deal with. I'm going down town for dinner and a play tonight, I'm betting I won't run into her there. hahahaha

Yup. that's why we really should feel sorry for her and encourage her to get out in the real world. I imagine it's pretty easy to get a little loopy if you're alone all the time posting on message boards.

I'm betting you won't run into her tonight either.

Did you say this out loud before you typed it? Its actually quite contradictory

Hey Rat Brat I said I prefer animals to people. Didn't you catch that?
Yes, I saw that but then you got a little smart with me...which is why I said that you proved my point. No worries though. I Love animals. They never cause me any intentional problems.

Have a great day and love your dogs!

Ummm and Blondie(blah...),

I know it's hard, but can we TRY to stay on the current topic? If you just want to bash rval, there are several threads devoted to just that purpose. Or you could make a new one up - all by yourselves.

I am certain that both of you can prove that you do not have the attention span of a goldfish. Just to refresh your memory, the topic is a pit bull that maimed a young child.

RVal, do you want to go there, honestly? Because I will.
I feel that you are nothing but a teeny tiny person that has no other joy in her life than to sit here on Topix and pick apart every little thing any other person has to say.
All I can say is you must have a shallow and empty life void of anything of anything worth while.
Let me guess you're a divorced, lonely woman, you know those stinky kind, that weigh about 450 pounds and are all kinds of hairy? If I were a betting woman I'd also have to say you have an excessive mole issue.
I'm over your ****, and to think I've stuck up for you in the past. I've gotten pissed that people were so mean to you. Huh, shows me. Now you can run along and pick on someone else, perhaps someone on your level. I'm sure there's some elementary school bully wandering around the hole you live in. But wait, to strike up a real life friendship that would mean you'd have to wedge yourself through your door and out into the real world. And boy, that'd be tough for you, wouldn't it?
Now if you'll excuse me I have a REAL life, with a real job to deal with. I feel sorry for you.
LOL... applauds you!

Exactly how is one suppose to know when your being sarcastic when all we do is read in black and white and see no face or tones of voice, I to stuck up for you but when one doesn't agree with your opinion and states something else you find the need to strike at them.. I will agree you do have a very sad life when I see how many post you make and how many times you seem to think it is ok for you to repeat yourself. Have you ever thought that this is a forum and is open for all to state an opinion, doesn't mean we have to agree with every thing you type. As I always say there is a bully in every bunch and you fit the picture of one. To bad you don't know how to agree to disagree without putting people down, you do have some great points but let one person say something different and you find a way to belittle them.

Are you always this much of a dolt? That was sarcasm, not at its finest perhaps, but sarcasm all the same.

I was simply making a sarcastic reply out of funniness to Rval. I feel that I can have a bit of banter with her without having to personally attack her or, I hope, be personally attacked by her. She has her very strong opinions and I have mine. I can debate with her on one thread and completely agree with her on another. No hard feelings.

We obviously don't know the entire story. Who leaves a 20-year-old home alone and then leaves the state. If they don't take care of their children properly, I seriously doubt that they take care of their animals properly. We don't know anything about this dog. Was it abused, inbread, mistreated? I am wondering if the child did anything to provoke the attack. I serioulsy doubt that the kid was just sitting there and the dog said "Oh gee, I think I will chew his arm off!"
My own personal opinion is that ALL DOGS BITE! Perhaps it would be more approriate to say all dogs have the potential to bite. I have been biten 3 times in my life and I received my worst bite at age 4 from an Irish Setter. I was bitten after trying to give the dog a hug on a hot day. Even though this was a dog that I knew well, I am sure that she was either irritable due to the weather or viewed my actions as a threat. The other two bites that I received were completely unprovoked. Both of these dogs had a history of being abused.
My cousin pointed out to me the other day that we never hear about attacks in the news unless they are from pitbulls. I know that there are a lot more dog bites than just the ones received from pitbulls. I also know pleanty of people who ahve bit bulls who are as sweet as pie. They were also raised in very good homes around children with families who spend time with them and treat them well.
People need to remember though that many pitbulls are often unregistered (no papers), inbread, mistreated, and breed and raised for illigal fighting. I think we all remember football player Michael Vicks high profile dog fighting case.
I am not making an arguement for or against ownership of bully breed dogs. All I am saying is all dogs have the potential to bite, expecially if they are poorly treated. People who do not know how to take responsibilty and recognized the risks and scarifices that go along with pet ownership should not have pets and futhermore people who leave their children home alone and then leave the state, probably shouldn't have children!
The news said he was left with a 23 year old brother who has not ever left their kids with a babysitter say like a 16-17 year old jusr because he was left with his brother dont make his parents bad, when you leave your child with a sitter family member or not you dont expect them to be left alone.

Carl Friedman, director of San Francisco's Animal Care and Control, said that although he does not want to condemn an entire breed, local and national statistics support taking steps to regulate pit bulls, such as mandatory neutering.

"When you have a mauling where a 12-year-old child is killed and when 50 to 60 percent of our hearings for vicious and dangerous animals are for pit bulls, you don't have to be a brain surgeon to see we have a problem with pit bulls," Friedman said.

Exactly the point!!! Never leave children ALONE with a animal. Although in this case the lab was a puppy or at least by the video it looked like at least a 3 mo old pup...

Where were the parents of this 8 week old baby and how long was it left unattended???

"Authorities believe it was a 6-week-old black lab puppy which killed the baby."

Yep, 6 week old pup, likely recently weaned from mama's milk, likely smells milk on the baby....A freak accident is Quite Different than a pitbull attacking a child upon the child jumping off of a couch----REMEMBER the PREY DRIVE in pitbulls registers off the charts....or do I need to repost that information class???
