I love Archway cookies, but because of this latest from them, I am boycotting them. I can make my own!

Piece of advice for all you West Michiganders; leave that place and leave it NOW! I live in Chattanooga and down here things are just a hell of alot better than there. VW is here, Trucking, all sorts of manufacturing and service ended jobs available. That state is beyond dead. It's irretrieveable and anyone dumb enough to stick around will get stuck with the tab. Leave, and don't ever look back. Michigan sucks beyond comprehension and none of you should feel any pangs of guilt for doing what is right for you and yours. I would love to live in Tennessee! I have heard the weather is wonderful, and yes, the economy is good. Perhaps I will look into that. Thanks Penny! I am sure there is a neonatal intensive care unit somewhere in your area where I could work, as this is what I do.

My husband is an independent distributor in Northern California and Oregon and just received a phone call from the D.M. that he is out of a job! Over the last several months, the company has been unable to fulfill our orders, cutting into inventory and leaving gaping holes in the stores. This has effected his sales and cut into our profit margin as well as tarnished his good reputation. I find it odd that his contract was renewed just 3 days ago! This company has known what was coming for several months and has acted irresponsibly where each and every manager, employee and independent is concerned with no regard to our lively hood.

This investment group Insight really handed it to us employees here in southern california. But at times we should have looked in the mirror and realized that they were just burying the brand Mother's along with all of the employees that built this company with their backs and hard work. I know for a fact that as teamsters members Mothers Cookies sales-reps should have grown a few pairs of testicles and stood up to our **** sucking DM's and fought back, but in the end we all got what we deserve because we were never united.

this isn't fair to independent distributors!!!!!!what about us independent distributors - i had to buy my area (in 1995) and when i tried to get out of my contract, they threatened me and said that i would end up owing them money instead of getting money back for my route. they ran me out of business by their incompetence - my route used to be worth $60K and now i don't have a dime. we could never get our loads and when i did get a load - it was short by several items. PLUS - i'm not getting paid for a months worth of invoices and will be charged for product i never received because they closed their doors with my cookie load still in route.

I also purchased my route in 2005 from my father who had it since 1973. The route steadily declined by 30% since then. This summer I was cut by about $90,000 worth of inventory. My territory, which covered parts of two states, was half empty, tarnishing my good name in my entire territory. Then to be slugged in the gut like this makes me sick. I, like other independents, had a viable asset, and now have nothing! I say we ban together and hire the best lawyer, or lawyers on our behalf, and get what we justly deserve from these corporate slime which knew for a long time exactly what was going to happen with this company. By the way, my contract was renewed four days ago. Any thoughts on this matter, email us @ paaabbbccd@aol.com.

Like Obama will bring Utopia to all. Presidents don't decide what companies do. Wheather they stay or leave. That starts with the governor. Oh, yes she has done a swell job of keeping businesses here by increasing their taxes an supporting more union corruption.

I have been an Independent Distributor of Archway Cookies for 21 years. I made a good living until attention holding purchased Archway, hired George Knobloch, Roy Jaspers, Bill Holden and other top executives who decided they would circumvent the independents to distribute the cookies. They forced many of us out of business with unfair and ruthless business tactics. I feel for the employees like myself who were victims but can only hope that these investors and executives fall further down the abyss. P.S. I personally saw thousands of dollars of product that were charged to the I.D’s accounts, dumped in the garbage so they could make a false quota. Now we’re fighting to prove that we never purchased the product from them.

If you only sell cookies to people so old that they can't taste anything anyway, well, it's just not a good business plan. My 84 year old mom won't buy them again, it is you stupid young people who don't know what good is. They were a really good cookie, years ago, I didn't like the ones we just bought either. Seems everything sold now is for health, but that crap is what you kids are thinking is good. microwave dinners? lol need cig commercials, beer that has alcohol, coffee needs caffeine, and grease that is not chemicals to have no trans fats. anyway archway lost all the years of a rep being a good product

My husband recieved notice at 3pm today that he and all salesmen had lost their jobs without any notice. In fact the investment company that own's Mother's lead them to believe that they were going to revieve a new contract as recently as Wednessday. You have a point. My son-in-law drove a truck delivering cookies. No pay or benefits in an instant. Mothers was a great company to work for years ago when it was locally owned. Archway probably got caught in a credit crunch.
