**** is an institution to New Yorkers. I miss her and always look out for her when I'm back home.
Everyone else, move along, there's nothing to see here. Honestly.

Seriously, if everyone knew who you were talking to and what it was all about, we'd likely, collectively say, "Oh! Well, yeah, he/she kind of deserves that..." Come on, fess up.

Some of us folks in the boondocks of the Midwest say laugh it off and get over it. It's those bible belt folks having a conniption fit.

I'd like to see a regular "What the F*** Are You Doing?" segment on Mondays -- like the "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?" segment on Today Show. Could be fun!

I am not from NYC, but similar things have happened where I live. She seems to be a respected person who made an honest mistake. She has apoligized publicly, and most likly privatly to the person she was talking to or about. Let her get on with her life, and bring you the news that everyone in this country craves. How many times has a politician stuck their foot in their mouth, issued and apology and everyone goes and votes for them anyway. Why is this different?

Some of you people are being so rude and obnoxious in your comments. Do you think you're any better than someone who accidentally got caught using bad language on TV?(not saying she was right, just made a bad choice)

I cannot believe this...how ridiculous. Too bad people don't get half as upset with all the soldiers being killed in Iraq, our economy, our idiot President and his cronnies, our health care,....if this is all NBC has to offer...
I love Sue and if you let her go I will not be watching your station anymore. I can't believe how people get so upset with something so ridiculous yet let our country be ruined in the past 8 years.

For years, you have handled yourself in a positive and professional manner and have been a great anchor and representative for WNBC4 and New York.
The word you said, the context used, and to whomever you were talking ,shows total disrespect for yourself, WNBC4 ,its employees, along with the listening audience.
SINCE IT WAS SUCH A STRONG LAPSE IN JUDGEMENT, YOU SHOULD STEP DOWN .
Since you have the nerve to comment, you should smack yourself silly!

Hey Barbara - what difference does it make that they put you down as being from Short Hills? That's not the issue here. They have my location wrong too but, so what? Unless they need my address to send me a check, it doesn't really matter :)

No she should not be fired. what kind of question is this? Sue has been on the air for nearly 30 years and she knows about the etiquette manners on front of the camera. it was just a slip of the tongue. If people dont like what she did, then they shouldnt watch NBC news anymore.

it's about "standards"!!
too much "american" freedom gives the wrong idea that you can do anything at anytime.

oh yes...we, as humans, make mistakes ... BUT when you are a role model AT LEAST show respect for others!!!

She is not a role model. She is an anchor. Parents are role models.

Do you think for one moment she meant to have this occur?

Do not fire. Discipline should be progressive and I'm certain she is punishing herself more than anything we can do or say, including termination.

Again, do not fire!

i couldnt agree more, sue needs to step down. no one with total lack of judement and responsibilty should be given a 2nd chance after delibareatly using profanity on live tv knowing that children may be present! You are paid way tooooo much money to be so wreckless! would you give her a 2nd chance with a gun if she were a police and accidentally shot a child! hell no! and as far as the apology goes, tke it and wipe it bcus it sounded so fake and doesnt seem as if you genuine wrote it,perhaps your producers wrote it. You now need to pay the price and STEP DOWN! we hear enough garbage on the streets the last thing i wna hear after a long day @ work is a "family oriented" network allowing such haneous act on live tv and acting as if it never hppnd! UNACCEPTABLE !
