Instead of going to work she was at the movies. Isn't that suspicious? As a matter of fact NYC teachers started work that Thursday and she never reported to work and went to the movies that Friday. Teaching fellows get jobs in hard to staff schools. She just began teaching in April,just two months and they say she loved her job but did not go the first two days.

You are entitled to your opinion as much as I don't agree with it. Most crimes against women are committed by someone they know. Remember she did not report to work on the first day and the 2nd day went to the movies. Teachers must report those two days to set up for instruction and for staff development. Teaching in a hard to staff school is not an easy feat. She was a teaching fellow and perhaps just couldn't take the stress of the job.

what if she was abducted by someone who disliked her or something? something is not right. i dont think she would have left just like that without her things. she loved her job i believe. i just hope she's still alive. i hope that her family and friends, including other people that know her find her soon, or she's found soon. i wish the best of luck to all that know hannah upps. may god bless u all!

How can these people say that they dont suspect foul play, I am not a detective but can see that it is most likely somebody she knew is behind this maybe someone she met on the net. You have to see that for an intelligent woman to go out without her bag, keys, money, phone and transport pass is not normal!

Investigators should be looking places she could live or travel free. The facts available point to a problem of other missing college students. Brian Shaffer, Maura Murray, and Michael Negrete are examples. Another high school teacher/college student to go missing was Tara Grinstead of Ocilla Ga. All these students are still missing. All walked away suddenly taking almost nothing with them.

Matthew Wilson has been found after eight months. He disappeared from Rice in Houston and was found in Berkeley California.

Finding her quickly is important. If she is a Dissociative Fugue victim the longer she is missing the more likely she could have an accident or become a crime victim.

i was one of her(ms.upp) STUDENTS last year and she was hardly abcent from work, she was responsible and had a bubbly personality. i know that ms upp. would never miss the first day of school unless something was wrong. i pray that she is okay and will soon be found.

Everybody wants to make this about race, but don't do it with Hannah's name attached, please. She may have ran away, but she is not responsible for perceived and actual biases in missing women news stories.

To people on both sides--those that see her another white face that perpetuates inequalities like the Latoya Figueroa case in Philly (2005?), and those that assume she was "dangling meat" before the "sharks" of Harlem--try to remember that she is person, not a color, and that this is true for everyone.

The best thing to do about women of color who have gone missing is to paper the city with their images, and insist that nobody forget or give up on them. The thing NOT to do is cry foul whenever a white woman goes missing and the media covers it, because this upsets most white people (not just hardcore reactionaries) and makes me feel like people only care about people that look like them. If that's how things are and are going to stay, what hope is there for this country?

In 2006, another pretty, naive, and young white girl disappeared from Manhattan. Her nude, brutally raped, and murdered corpse was found 17 days later in Brooklyn with a sock stuffed in her mouth, her limbs bound with wire, and her head wrapped with packaging tape. Her name was Imette St. Guillen. I called it correctly on what kind of suspect would be soon getting arrested as soon as she went missing, and I am calling it correctly again now.(The perp's name is non-white guy and violent ex-con Darryl Littlejohn, who is still awaiting trial.)

Pretty, naive, and young white girls with liberal arts degrees, who choose to live in urban cesspools like Harlem, really need street smarts as well as book smarts. They need to know how to defend themselves physically. I would hope she is found and that this dosen't end tragic, it would be a shame if another young life is lost to foul play.

Well it looks like she jumped off a bridge and attempted to kill herself, but survived. Non-white/Obama supporter huh. Just another white male fascist hater.
