This is very true if its not in your genetics to be naturally agressive than your parents will show you that agression is okay and than it becomes a life long fight to keep your temper in check. Thanks to mommy or daddi. I know from experience.

Spanking's never hurt anyone. I grew up with four brother's and we got beating's (not spanking's) and we all do very well. When you send your child to that wonderful time out corner, whip his little butt all the way there. you will be helping the police out in the long run. most of you people who got spanked and won't spank their little monster regret it. all that screaming in public, the crying when they don't get there way. i see it all the time, if your embarassed already kick his little **** right then and there and he won't do it anymore.

When you discipline a child you have to use your head. Spanking is not always the answer and then some mothers/fathers overuse spanking which most often turns to abuse.

I am not against spanking because when a child is really misbehaving a time out will not work. Then you find yourself dealing with a child who is screaming out of their minds and hitting you OUT IN PUBLIC!!! I have seen this situation once to many times.

Spanking when done properly does not leave kids scarred for the rest of their lives it’s most likely the abusive type of spanking. I was spanked as a child and somehow I have done very well for myself.

I have also witnessed abusive spanking and I wanted to knock the mother out for slapping away her kid with a lot of force.

I wonder how many of the individuals who do these research studies or who write books about how parents should deal with kids, actually have kids!!!! Those research studies do not under any circumstances relate to real life situations because not all kids are the same. What works for one kid does not work for another!

Violence begets violence. You see it all the time, when older children turn around and take revenge on the younger ones after being spanked. Also, the children will grow up and one day take a violent attitude toward their own children.

I believe whole-heartedly that spanking causes aggression in children. We had dinner last night at friends' home who spank their children. My son did something their little boy didn't like and their boy smacked my son in the face. The mother then commented on the fact that all three of her children have been having problems hitting other kids lately, and she just doesn't understand why.

My children have never been spanked and have never hit another child. We also constantly get compliments on how well-behaved they are.

Spanking is NOT the answer, unless the question is, "Why is my kid violent?"

Spanking is a way to show that you love your childrens. Ask anybody that was spanked by their daddy and they'll say I hate him then..but now that I am an adult,I know he did it because he love me and wanted the best for me.

Spanking is also a way to arouse sexual satisfaction. Thai hookers will spank you butt red for an additional fee. Whip and leather clothing will be supplied for a few Bhat more.

Child buttock-battering vs. DISCIPLINE:

Child buttock-battering for the purpose of gaining compliance is nothing more than an inherited bad habit.

Its a good idea for people to take a look at what they are doing, and learn how to DISCIPLINE instead of hit.

I think the reason why television shows like "Supernanny" and "Dr. Phil" are so popular is because that is precisely what many (not all) people are trying to do.

There are several reasons why child buttock-battering isn't a good idea. Here are some good, quick reads recommended by professionals:

Plain Talk About Spanking
by Jordan Riak,

The Sexual Dangers of Spanking Children
by Tom Johnson,

NO VITAL ORGANS THERE, So They Say
by Lesli Taylor M.D., and Adah Maurer Ph.D.

Most compelling of all reasons to abandon this worst of all bad habits is the fact that buttock-battering can be unintentional sexual abuse for some children. There is an abundance of educational resources, testimony, documentation, etc available on the subject that can easily be found by doing a little research.

Just a handful of those helping to raise awareness of why child buttock-battering isn't a good idea:

American Academy of Pediatrics,

American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry,

Center For Effective Discipline,

PsycHealth Ltd Behavioral Health Professionals,

Churches' Network For Non-Violence,

Nobel Peace Prize recipient Archbishop Desmond Tutu,

Parenting In Jesus' Footsteps,

Global Initiative To End All Corporal Punishment of Children,

United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child

Countries where child buttock-battering is prohibited by law: Sweden, Finland, Norway, Austria, Cyprus, Italy, Denmark, Latvia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Germany, Israel, Iceland, Ukraine, Romania, Hungary, Greece, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile, Spain, Costa Rica, Republic of Moldova, and more in process.
In fact, the US was the only UN member that did not ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The US also has the highest incarceration rate. The US states with the highest incarceration rates have the highest child corporal punishment rates.
Child buttock-battering doesn't curb crime, it contributes to it.
