Buffalo crimes kept from the public?

So the good mayor thinks if crime isn't reported it means that Buffalo has no crime at all? Good going! Truth is, most parts of Buffalo have turned into a cess pool - some areas in North Buffalo and sections of South Buffalo are hanging on, but just barely. Is the mayor ever going to directly address his OWN COMMUNITY regarding the 90%(or more) violent crime that it "provides" to keep a police (and homicide) force very busy? Thought not, he might offend his voting base.

not true. get your facts in order before you run amok, the national report on safe cities has to have a national database where serious crimes/felonies are reported and tracked as such.

sorry ----providing the district info. is simply not enough info. Some districts are so crime ridden you need to know the actual street, yes, address, where the crime occurred. Providing only the district is not enough . Not providing the public with what is deemed public knowledge by citizen's rights by law is simply wrong, no matter who you may or may not be trying to protect. Disagree, full disclosure of available info. is th e best practice and the right thing to do. If you lived with or harbored a criminal then are in jeopary due to their activities, very unfortunate, yes, but all citizens have rights and cannot be controlled by criminals and the complicity of those in power to withhold such criminal activity- no matter what the logic is. I repeat from another forum...Amherst is physically attached to it's own police dept...and those judges and cops are as close as husband and wife!

Teachers that are assaulted are forbidden from filing police reports.

Principals are not allowed to file police reports for student on student assaults or robberies.

Burglaries in schools are ignored even when the culprits are well known.

All this it teaching students that they can get away with lawlessness with no punishment.
