I'm glad to see that someone in this city is not going to allow the school board and superintendant to get away with their inaction in the McKinley matter. Mr. Paladino has the influence to push for a just resolution: the removal of Crystal Barton and the resignation or removal of Dr. Williams. I hope he succeeds for the good of the school system and the children it is supposed to serve.

Carl is great! He really takes an interest in Buffalo corruption issues. Maybe some African-American professionals..judges, business people and politicians...could follow suit, and put money and clout, where there mouth is! Most of the important people involved in this episode, are African-American, except the volunteer coach...and I have not heard one word of condemnation of these people that are at fault, from any Black officials! This is why whites have such negative views of black people..they don't speak about any issues, if blacks are the abusers! Let;s hear from all the blacks, but especially the ones with money. You are the ones that can bring change when blacks are acting professionally irresponsible and it is affecting mostly black children!

It is very apparent that the leadership of the buffalo schools believes that they are not responsible to the citizens of Buffalo that pay their salaries. When an employee refuses to respond to the direction of the superintendent that is insubordination. when the same employee denies an individual the right to speak at a board meeting illegally that is a lack of moral character. The citizens of Buffalo need to correct this situation. It is the responsibility of the citizens to take action. I applaud Mr Paladino for taking this stand

Buffalo teachers, both black and white have long been disgusted by the nonsense that's gone on. The superintendent and other board employees bank on the Buffalo parents not participating in their children's education. That way, there are very few questions asked and they're able to take whatever action they see fit. They are able to appoint completely incompetent principals and assistant principals, lay off counselors and attendance teachers and appoint associate superintendents at six figure salaries. We need the Buffalo parents to wake up and get involved and demand these people in City Hall do their jobs! I congratulate Mr. Paladino and hope he keeps the pressure on.

Carl, I agree with you but why waste your breath? No one is listening ... The majority of the parents aren't involved in their kid's education.. The majority of the teachers are beleaguered or don't care anymore ...And 1/2 of the leadership team has been recruited from out of town and is here to collect a fat paycheck, then its see ya!

I think there needs to be some serious house cleaning of our school board and that we should replace the superintendent. I have never heard of the problems we face nowdays before when we had other superintendents.

Since most of this money probably comes from NY state we should all care...all realize, the city is a sucking hole of waste, administrators are fat and don't really accomplish anything and that's OK with the union because they are only interested in the overpaid members contracts (with NO accountabilty). Do what you can Carl, you should sleep well being on the right side.

Seven years ago my wife, then 4 year old daughter, and I, relocated from out of state back to the Buffalo area. We wanted to live in the city. it was only because of the poor state of the city schools that made our choice the suburbs. As educators, we could not see our daughter in the city system. Via my job, I have numerous interfaces with students, teachers and administrators from city schools and have personally visited every school in the city. I could write a book of horrors on the debacles of city school management and shortcomings of the education program. It's a disgrace! While waterfront development, and new buildings downtown are important to a resurgence of Buffalo, leaders need to recognize that a good school system is a cornerstone of the city's future. The current leadership has not demonstrated the creative, innovative, and competent abilities to accomplish the task.

Now this is what I have been talking about. Finally a citizen stands up and is herd. He should be an example to everyone else. He is sick and tired of how the Buffalo Schools are being run, so he stands-up and makes noise. If everyone did this, then we would see changes, but if the system goes unchallenged then there will be no changes. Remember the old rule,” safety in numbers"? Well it's time for more people to get involved and help remove the corrupt politicians, board members, and even the mayor. We need to take back our government and the only way that is going to happen is if everyone gets involved. One man can do something’s, but a thousand or tens of thousands can move mountains!
Get involved!!!!!

An Account Clerk Typist (secretary), starting pay 34K, will make more than a Teacher (with Bachelors), starting pay 32,897... Don't teachers have to go to college?? And doesn't the average college graduate have something like 40K in loans/debt ?? No wonder they couldn't hire enough teachers last year.. This system defies logic...

I am so thankful my sons are no longer in school. The Board of Education should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to allow a cover-up to exist. I hope Mr. Paladino blows the lid off of everyone and they are held accountable. Many people need to be replaced: Williams, Barton, some members on the school board to name a few.

The public school system has always been a jobs program for the politically connected- especially during tough economic times.
You would be shocked to learn how many people are on teh school payrool who never enter a classroom ("Assistant to the Associate District Director of Auxilary Soecial Remedial Programs" or whatever- at $75,000 a year)
It's nice to have a "watchdog" like this man calling them out on their BS

Rip off artist at his best, I hope Carl sues himm personally. I would applaud his efforts and donate $...we should take up a collection and sue them in civil court for defamation of our city. Sorority sistas and the pimp. Nice. The $40M yacht is probably their own private party boat, we foot the bill, like the bill from Shang Hi Red''s where they held their "private" party last Friday. Williams was hitting on the bartender. What a guy...
