Who (what) is a "Court Observer"?

Any mother who leaves her children in a car, in 87 degrees, NEEDS to have HER HEAD EXAMINED! You can't do that to a DOG legally. These were HER CHILDREN. WHY? TO GO SHOPPING??? Maybe she can PLEAD being "UNCONSCIOUS" at the time. I'd believe her! What does the FATHER have to say about her actions? Bet he's NOT TOO PLEASED!

Maybe she was just running in to grab somthing and didn't want to unstrap and restrap the kids for a 5 minute trip?

Regardless if it was a 5 minute trip, what kind of parent leaves their young children unattended in a parking lot. Anyone could have just taken them at any time. Maybe she should be locked in a hot sweaty car for a period of time to see how she likes it. Wonderful parenting we have here. You never leave children in a car, even if you are lazy and don't want to unstrap them

How can someone be so stupid as to leave their kids in a car alone. Health dangers, someone possibly hitting your car, car catching fire, sex offenders, kidnappers...think people.

It is someone who watches what goes in a court setting. There are not enough or any in most courts..but Amherst needs tons. Amherst court is attached to it's own police dept....so you can just imagine where justice "lies"!
If the police make the arrest, they then are as close to the judge as their own wives...guess who is getting screwed!?
Amherst rarely has a lawyer present when you are arraigned and you are forced to plea to a misd. in drug court at arraignment, and if drug court does not accept you during the first session...you are convicted of the misd...without any drug testing of the material seized...which could be baking soda!
Justice is NY state is a complete joke and by the way...I have never been arrested..just been a long time and knowledgable OBSERVER! I also am a big proponent of the constitution...which under Bush, has been tossed unde the bush!

People need to learn how to be proper parents. Though I remember forty years ago children often waited in a car for a parent in a store. Now a days it is just to dangerous, not because of the heat, but because of people in general, anyone could have opened that vehical somehow and taken those children. But leaving them in a heated vehical is not a smart thing to do. Children need the care from their parents. So I would love to see parents get the parenting skills before they are even allowed to have children.

Seriously people. There isn't one person/parent who doesn't make a mistake. The only difference is that there's no news crew broadcasting it all over the news. I feel for her and thank God all of her kids are alive and well. This morning I watched a woman with 2 kids in the backseat pump gas in front of me and go inside the station to pay. She left the kids in the car. Nothing happened to them, but anything could have. Let us all try to Judge not less ye be judged.

Ive once went in the post office to help one of my children carry a package out, I was out of the car no more then 2 min. and inside no more then 30 sec. but when I got out BOOM there was a trooper screaming at me. Small things I can see like paying for gas or that poor woman who ran in to get her child a sandwich only to have her car jacked and him thrown out. But to SHOP?? Thats not 7 11! I grew up listening to my mother preach about the poor girl who had her arms cut off after being picked up hitchicking (we all know the story) Horrible things are nothing new and we all need to be accountable!

I know her and she is just not a very responsible person. And what she did is just being a bad mother period!! Her husband is a doctor and so she could pay for help if she needs it or she has lots of family in the area she could of left those kids with. No excuses for her behavior please!!

As a parent, you have to stop and think, what's important? the items at the store or the kids, I know as a parent were in a rush sometimes, well all the time, and I know that things don't go the way they should always, but, not matter how bad, how stressed, how less time you have, even if the store is closing in five minutes, you have to be the adult and if ya skill as a adult isn't there yet, get some help, thank god someone saw this or we'd have four innocent kids hurt, possible dead!

She was in the store for 45 minutes.
And it doesn't matter if it was for 5 minutes, this shows all of us that YOU are a LAZY MOTHER.
if you can't properly take care of your kids, whether you have one or four, then SHUT YOUR LEGS AND DON'T HAVE ANY!!!

I wouldn't necessarily say that she was right for what she did and I'm sure she knows that. But in this racist area called Amherst......had it been a white person who left her kids in the car....it would have been "Woman leaves her kids in the minivan" but because she's black it's "woman leaves kids in the car while she shops" to make the black person look like an incompetent parent alltogether. People make mistakes and no one is perfect.....I'd have a fit if my wife did something like that but let's be realistic here. The story title gives the impression that the lady is guilty from the start. We don't know why the girl did what she said, only she knows that. She could have very well have been just leaving out and coming right back. Honestly, what woman wants to haul 4 kids around in a store anyway. The question we should be asking is why does this woman not have someone there to watch the kids while she does what she had to do...like the father of the children????

as i have stated many time, lets turn the temp up for her and do the same thing to her and watch her suffer. i think that would be good punishment for people and their actions, an eye for an eye do the same back to them
