State Education Dept. issues deficiency report on Buffalo Schoo...

THIS IS THE BIGGEST SCAM GOING.$7.1 MIILION ON ABOUT 300 KIDS???? What the hell is the money being spent on exactly? There is no contact info and no working #'s for this sham company. It's base is in Williams' home town. The C.A.R.T school in Fresno, Ca was under the direction of David (Patrick) Wright who now has had a falling out with that Supt. in Fresno, and he refuses to speak of or speak to Mr. Wright, WHY? This is an illegal outrage, the control board should be fired for being so irresponsible in sliding this through right under our noses, not waiting for the report. Why can these folks just ignore Albany? How do they get away with it? This sucks. Teachers are crawling in a pay freeze and they are throwing millions around like its chump change.

If the control board is there to protect us from these giant contract scams then why are they getting away with this? That's somewhre around $100K PER KID to work in front of a computer! Jesus, we are that stupid????? My God. I am moving.

Did the people who gripe and moan about the program at 44 forget that the same old same old is what failed these kids in the first place?? Take the successes of 44 and build on it before you kick it out the door completely. Did the state ed talk to any of the parents???? Any school in the district has room to improve. Some of the schools that used to be the best of the magnet schools are crap now. The Board only cares about City Honors and Olmsted kids anyway.

Are they kidding? Get back to basics and teach these kids. Fire Williams and get someone who can produce results. The whole bunch of them should be arrested for fraud. Yes, the fraud they are committing by pretending they have the best interests of the students in mind. This is soooo sickening. How can that arrogant jerk look tv cameras in the eye and claim he is meeting his objectives??? When will Buffalo wake up and get this jerk out???

The students are where they are because they are too disturbed to be allowed to mix with other students who are too often only marginally better able to cope with the school environment. They made classrooms hell,and that is why they are at 44.

And it does NOT go back to the teacher's, it goes back to the PARENTING in the child's FIRST FIVE YEARS before they even hit the system. These kids don't hit 12 and suddenly get messed up. They were messed up at 2 and 3. Just ask some local FOSTER PARENTS..

This is a hoax, a joke and now the underpaid screwed and disrespected teachers will be ordered to bail them out of this mess. Screw the, screw Keresztes. What about his name in the grade fixing as principal, the City Honors scandal, this mess and the dismantling of the Special Ed. program to rake Medicaid? This guy belongs in the mafia, not in charge of kids lives.

Hey YaYa, I do volunteer, it's called being a Buffalo Public Teacher, remember we have had a pay freeze for almost 6 years. It is volunteerwork, maybe I could go there on my lunch break. And foster parents are not part of the problem at all.

Standing ovation for you YaYahood. This is a school of last resort for the malcontents and trouble makers that MUST be offed an education according to the law.
The problems start in their homes and can't be resolved 9-3 no matter how many social workers and shrinks you put in the school.
Parents/guardians don't even bother to make sure these kids show up.
Go back to teaching the 3 R's the traditional way, and group them by their comprehension level not age or grade level. Bring back vocational training as well.
No amount of money or teachers is going to make these kids or their so called parents give a hoot about education.

The old alternative settings worked much better than what we have now. Students who are disruptive and placed at #44 have to stay there. Years ago, when a student was placed at Alternative, they could work their way back into the high school they were removed from OR they could be sent to another high school after spending time in the alternative setting. Now,#44 is FULL and will remain that way. Does that mean that all of the disruptive students are now out of the classrooms and at #44? NO. It just means that we now have NOWHERE to send disruptive students because #44 is full. What incentive do these kids have to change their ways? They are stuck. Granted, their behavior got them there to begin with. But, the incentive of returning to your original school to graduate with your classmates might be enough motivation for some of these kids.
BTW Lynn, you can't blame teachers on this one. The teachers must adhere to the curriculum they are told to use. In this case, Resultech and the Board are to blame, not the teachers.

The real problem is that initially these children had no proper supervision at home prior to their first educational experience in Kindergarten. It STARTS with family training and respect for others. Evidently these children weren't taught this. They weren't taught responsibility either. Children NEDD/REQUIRE GUIDANCE, preferably from their natural parents. Theyare the one's responsible for the clildren's birth as well as their upbringing. The schools can only work with what they get.

So, spending $7.1 million dollars is a waste, agreed? If you took one million single dollar bills and linked them end to end, it would circle the planet earth 4 1/2 times. Think about how much money we are talking about, pay freeze and staff cuts and all. Not to mention the conditions of some schools and the lack of materials in all of them.

I want to know why the phone doesn't work at ResulTech, you can't get any infor, not even a pamphlet. Nobody knows how to even reach them????Is this a joke? Why is it just fine for the COntrol Board to send MILLIONS out of state, especially to James Williams' home town state? Does this strike anyone as a stinking corruption?

Well, it all starts at home. I know some ratty kids that go there and their mothers are lazy bums, allow parties at their houses with underaged CHILDREN.. so it's really no wonder that these teachers at this alternative school cannot teach the basic math, english, science and history along with discipline and structure. That's something the parents should be doing and it's difficult to do when you have already unruly kids to deal with. When are the parents going to step up? You know darn well these mothers are not sitting with their children who attend this school helping them with their homework.. What a sad story..
