The weather here sucks, really 8 months that snow is possible??? what's up with that?
People and businesses don't move away from here because of the taxes, they go because of the snow. How can you get to work where there is no subway or train and there is 6 feet of snow.
How about those weather related POWER FAILURES. that's fun too when your business does not have power, phone or internet for 4 days... Yess sir. lots of fun.
Noting better then the nice refreshing cold hit your face in the winter. You have to know how to drive I do it every day and dont get stuck. Theres a subway it just runs stright. Power failuers How about 1 nice week with out work drinking some beers by candle light by a fire yummmmmmmmm Buffalo dont change a thing. Theres a saying here dont like the weather get the **** out.

I love Buffalo. Entertainment options: hiking, fishing, snowmobiling, ice skating, ice fishing, festivals, carnivals, fairs, lawn fetes, fund raisers, hunting, camping, river rafting, kayaking, camping, lakeshore rentals, wineries, casinos, Walking trails, bike riding, bandits, sabres, bills, Jills, roller derby, shopping malls, outlets, drive ins, fishing tournaments, bowling tournaments, golfing, indoor golf ranges, pool halls, Elmwood strip, the list can get longer.
Work opportunities: can be tough, but open your mind to other things. I went from business to outfitter back to business. Our opportunities are what we make of them. We need to always be looking for opportunity and not be afraid to make changes. If you are afraid to make a change -- then how can you expect Buffalo to make a change? We have a lot of goodthings, and we seem to be going in the right direction -- though it is a bit slow. Make your opinion count -- vote and attend fundraisers, conferences, speeches etc to see how YOU can impact our town. Please don't complain if you haven't taken action to change things.

Buffalo is a victim of the "rust belt" The manufacturing industries are gone south and south of the border. A new vision is necessary and the waterfront is the brightest spot for the future only if politicans get their act together. It seems like all new development fails or is severely slowed by squabbling politicans and so called " do gooders" who have attempted to stop Bass Pro and the Casino. Develop the area attract conventions with things to do so downtown doesn't close after 5:00. The Erie Canal project is good but it is only a start since there is little to do after you have seen the canal.
THAT IS just what happened and is still happening, THE wellen CANAL was just the start but we are a strong people and WE CAN come back if only everybody stops running to court about every little thing / as it has been said there is nothing to do after dark / at least the CASINO would give people SOMTHING to do , BASS PRO ? what are they going to do? after 9 p.m. CLOSE up and roll up the side walks / WE NEED somthing to do after 9 p.m./ AND some day I think IF we KEEP control of the WATER from the GREAT LAKES / SOMEDAY the big industries will have to come back becouse WE have the WATER and CHEEP ELECT, so if you want it you will have to come BACK to the great lakes area to get it.

Cheap Electric? We have the highest rates in the country. If the politicians could empty the lake to make a few dollars they would, they are trying to figure out how as we speak.

I left Buffalo in 1982. People think I left because of the weather. No...I left because liberal tax-n-spend democrats believe you can TAX yourself into prosperity. What happens is a tax payer like myself leaves, so what to these liberal democrats do?...they RAISE taxes on the remaining population to make up for the depleting tax rolls! More people and businesses leave and what happens? More taxess on the remaining population. It is insane! Whose is the number one employer? Is it a manufacturer of goods like when this country actually made something like steel? No...it is government and socialized jobs!!And you wonder why the city is dying??

Look at who is running the top 10 dying cities and the common denominator is clear...liberal tax and spend democrats with no fiscal budget responsibily are driving anybody with half a brain out of these dying cities.

Yes...I still love my Bills and Sabres, but they too are eventually going to leave. Wanna bet??

You, I, and many other duped Western New York taxpayers already subsidize the Bills; our tax money helped pay for the Ralph ans its renovations!

i am curious to hear the response from those on the east side of buffalo. i left buffalo more than 20 years ago, and vowed never 2 return 2 live. the city has been dead for many years. sure there's AWESOME food, and the people are great, but there is very little culture, and entertainment, job stability is questionable in the private sector, the public school system is in chaos...so what's so great?
There is no culture and entertainment? You obviously didn't get your **** off your couch to see any of it. How many more nationalities does Buffalo need? The Bills, Sabres, Bisons, Museums, Galleries, Festivals, BPO, Thursday in the Square, etc... That's not enough?

The thing I like about Buffalo is that in teh city they have paid volunteer firemen

But out in the suburbs they have volunteer firemen who like to start arson fires
