saw mr joel rose on the telly yesterday, when asked if he was happy about all the construction workers at the casino being out of work now, his response was 'no, that's sad'. what exactly did he think was going to happen if this place was shut down? it's a double edge sword here and maybe the Wendt corporation will feed the families and pay the bills for all the workers affected by the nonsense this man and his cronies have caused.

This is sad. These workers now out of work. I guess Mr. Rose got what he wanted. Like Old Timer said, is the wendt corp going to feed people? Give them jobs? Nope Nope Nope.

construction jobs are temporary...the economic hit to the poor who are drawn to the dream od easy winnings is permanent. Casino's peaked several years ago(ask Donald Trump and the fake "tribe" at Foxwoods" and planning a city's economic plan around a casino is just another example of morons running the show.....

Well now that the Seneca's are stopping building the casino and hotel. I hope that maybe Joel Rose is happy and is ready to buy his fishing supplies from BassPro. Is that building almost done yet??? How long ago were we talking about that? Let the Seneca's build the Casino and Hotel they are doing a great job on the with the plans they have.

I will be refering to the special interest group. These people are well read I will give them that. But they are using their book smarts to stagnate
progress in this area all they do is delay progress which raises the cost of any progress. If I were looking to
locate my company Buffalo would be the last place I would look because of these na sayers for everthing one trys to accoumplish. They clearley think only of them selves and not the rest of the community and the population.
BOOK SMART YES,COMMON SENSE NO. Look at how long it is taking to build a new peace bridge, 30 years later we are still waiting. This is one of the reasons the city has fallen 15 yrs. behind other cities.

Make sure someone provides Joel's address and such in case any of the now jobless workers wand to stop by and have a little 'chat' with him.

I didn't care for another casino but if others see the logic in building one then let them build it. So what can be done here? We have a potential hotel, office building, mall, condo or whatever. The location is good and Buffalo needs some new construction, especially the kind that taxpayers do not have to foot the bill for. In case any politicians are able to read and are reading this, that means we do not want to buy a Bass Pro store.

Although I am not Pro or Con about the Casino Issue, I think that the present economic uncertainty and rising food and living cost, don't make this a good project at the present time. I think some additional Businesses coming to Buffalo is what is needed, to bring decent jobs and help support Buffalo and it's rebuilding effort. I am in favor of revitalizing downtown and making it something it has not been for a long time. I just think with the choices of casino's today in our area, just fix the one that already exists, make it something stellar looking and re-evaluate in the future about a multi million dollar investment. Take the one downtown today and refurbish the look to blend to the area and the long range plan!

Good for the Senecas...They are sticking it to us. If I were involved in Seneca management, i would have one simple statement to the media.

""We will give Buffalo one day to stop all the nonsense, if you don't, we are closing up shop in Niagara Falls and Buffalo and will go where we are appreciated"...

Remember all you anti casino jackasses.....They don't need us, we need them!!!

maybe they could put another museum there, as if we don't have enough of those. I haven't been to the waterfront area in years but I know one thing, how long are people expected to walk around and look at water? something for you to do once you're there needs to happen soon. naval ships? been there done that, once was enough. it seems as if anything that can push buffalo out of the way back when machine is always contested by someone! maybe mr rose could spend some time looking for a barber who can bring HIM and that ugly **** beard up to date.

I was just listening to County Executive Collins' view that the shutdown may have less to do with the local economy and more with other concerns of the investors that are backing the Senecas. Considering the timing of the shutdown order it may be that the those investors feel that the current lawsuit has possible merit and therefore they don't simply want to put up any more $ until this issue is finally settled.
Of course the lawsuit doesn't involve the Allegany operation but the funding for both projects may be tied together. If that's the case then a separate funding deal for Allegany may be needed.

For education, for the kids! More than likely the teachers union is in bed with one of many dirty politicians to allow gambling where it is illegal so they can split the take.

These people are only in it for the money. They're griping and complaining about cigarette taxes, when we all know smoking is the number one cause of smoking-related illness, and gambling will only lead to mobsters and gambling illnesses.
