Sure, you can call, but the won't come and escort you.
I am a student on UB south campus. I work at a lab there and I often have to come and go late at night. There have been multiple armed robberies there and I still rarely see police anywhere. They also refuse to come if you only need an escort.

maybe the cops are too busy answering calls or writing reports to walk you to your car or dorm. what happens when you graduate and move out into the real world? are you gonna still call the police and request them to be your personal bodyguard every time its dark out and you need to walk to your car? get yourself some pepper spray or have a buddy meet you or pick you up. |
