I LOVE these people who say that pot does not harm anyone, ever. Why don't you ask my friends sister who lost her husband when a guy driving high after smoking pot was not able to react fast enough while driving and killed him. Yep... drugs do harm people, and not just the users. Pot is included. Legalized or not, pot does harm people.

Drinking and driving or driving after smoking pot would be considered the same thing. Just like people can't and shouldn't go to work drunk (even though drinking is legal at 21), they wouldn't be allowed to go to work stoned. Treat it the same as liquor. It's not a huge deal.

Matt, I am sorry to hear about for your friend’s sister’s husband. Although I am for legalizing marijuana, I do not condone driving while on any substance. No one should drive drunk or stoned. The point I am making is that we allow tobacco and alcohol to remain legal even though they are responsible for thousands and thousands of deaths. People have been using marijuana as long as man has walked the earth. It USED to be legal and doctors would prescribe it, however, the governments who are support to represent the free are not. They suppress something that could help the sick. I am not trying to change anyone’s mind but I just want people to know the truth about a harmless plant.

The above post is just how I feel, good job. I do not use it but marajuana SHOULD be legal. Also, the "non-high" hemp plant should be grown in the U.S.A. by american farmers looking for a cash crop. It grows fast in most soil conditions,is insect and weather tolerant and can by grown organicaly. It is a great product that can be used for hundreds of items. It was used for thousands of years but our government shut it down about sixty years ago.

I think in reality it would be hard to legalize an illegal drug. As a whole, our country has shown that we cannot handle drugs and alcohol responsibly. Lots of people think nothing of driving drunk/or on drugs, wasting their lives, money, sacrificing relationships, committing crimes to support their habits, or committing crimes because they are under the influence of these useless substances. Legalizing pot is just a hot topic that will not alone solve our countries dependency on drugs. People just like to say legalize it because it is easy to say but not many people look at the root problem and the consequences of changing laws.

maybe you should ask this question at an NA meeting. Pot is addictive ask anyone who can't quit

Pot is not addictive! It never has been and will never be no matter how bad some people want it to be. Is tobacco addictive? Is booze addictive? Are some "safe pharmaceutical drugs" addictive? I thought that the FDA was support to protect everyone from harmful drugs? Is tobacco addictive? Is booze addictive? Oh I guess they are ok to sell, even though we can get major cancer from one and wipe-out our liver or wipe out a family from DWI ON THE OTHER! Like I said before, please do some researches before you post!

Actually no he is not, as a drug counseler Pot is addictive. Most people who quit experience side effects for about a month. If people lose weight after quiting they feel the effects harder since the drug is stored in fat cells.

People who defend the use of pot are usually wastes who can't get away from the computer long enough to live life because they are high....could this be you? I know a good NA meeting if you would like the location. PS- it is research not researches

Life coach, thank you for the correction, but smoking is spelled with an "o." I respect your view or opinion about the legalizing of marijuana. It's good to have the freedom to speak your mind.
Please tell me what the name of the chemical that one could get addicted to in marijuana?
THC does is not addictive!
Yes, I have dealt with people who smoke marijuana and I can say that I have never seen anyone become addicted to it.
I do not understand why tobacco is legal? It kills many people every year.
I do not understand why booze is legal. It kills lots of people every year.
Why are both legal? They are a problem, but no one seems to care about the health effects.
The only reason why Marijuana is illegal is because of money. I know the local; state and federal law enforcement rely on their annual budget that includes enforcement on marijuana. That is a fact! The pharisaical companies do not want to compete with marijuana. They lobby and pay many hundreds of millions of dollars to the FDA to get what they want. This is not about any health risk, but it's about money. Marijuana was not made illegal due to health concerns, if so, then tobacco and booze would have been deemed, "illegal."
