I can't take an a** whipping like Neal Mack so now what are my options when the police decide they want to stop and beat me for no reason, and other cops watch?

I believe that the Buffalo Police Dept is like every other government that has tremendous power or uses objects of power (weapons, etc).... and that is they have pockets of corruption and need accountability, always! Most power entities do not want accountability, because they always believe that this second guesses their use of their power. But this thinking is actually wrong ,in the fact that it really increases their ability to use their power effectively! The reason for this, is that they will embrace their basic knowledge and intuition, which then assures that they will use their power properly while monitors are checking, knowing that their reckless usage of it remains abated! So.. better thinking allows for better determinations! I believe that the officer wanted to really express this to the citizens, but the angry remarks from so many can make anyone defensive!

Sometimes they seem bored, they want some action. I was once follwed and asked if I stopped at a 4 way stop, which I had.(A taxi was to the right of me, and had arrived first, I waited for them to proceed.) This cop was behind the taxi, flashed the lights, and gave me a heckuva time, all about 100 feet from my home. He then shrugged it off when I informed him his front headlight was out.
I don't believe it has anything to do with race, that doesn't make a difference.

Accountability is necessary within all government agencies or you will see evidence(as so many complain on this site daily) of pockets of corruption...Lynch for our typical example! There are many more examples, within some very respectable entities and the lack of monitoring is destroying public trust and willingness to support the employees ,working there in civil service to the public that employs them....as you are very familiar with! I truly hope you expand your thinking ,to view the reality about todays improper actions and reactions of so many people..in and out of power... that is the unfortunate sign of the times! Pleasure to discuss things with you..again!

Judge, I don't have the patience to deal with these things as intellectually as you do and some of the stoneheads on here don't deserve the effort or couldn't comprehend anyway. I feel a direct, aggressive aproach sometimes works best for me. Part of it has to do my age, the other with experience. Fortunately, my dealings with the general public is extremely limited now, lucky for them! LOL! We can fill volumes with the shortcomings of the various systems that we both are familiar with and change, if it comes at all, comes slow.

BLOODY 8 VET. You are also a citizen! If you cannot admit that there is corruption in most agencies, then you must be blind and def! I have seen corruption first hand and it sickens me. Let me ask, how many cops drive and talk on their cell phones? How many cops run reds when they do not have to? How many speed when they do not have to? How many drink and drive? How many take drugs? How many commit bigger crimes like stealing, rape or other atrocities?
Please don't tell me this stuff does not happen. I have seen much worse happen. I am not against the police; however, I am not going to pretend that cops are model citizens. Yes, there are some good cops that do not take bribes, sell drugs and drink and drive. Some guys and gals are just good honest cops, but please don't bust us for talking on our cell phones when I see cops talking to their spouses when they are driving!
So my friend, people are getting very sick and tired of all the dishonesty. We all know the truth!

So my friend, people are getting very sick and tired of all the dishonesty. We all know the truth! There are bad apples in every barrel but to label all as corrupt is absurd. Because you see a cop on a cellphone, speeding, running a light, or whatever does not automatically make them wrong. They may be but you don't know that unless you are in the car with them. As for cops committing crimes, yes, it is known to happen and it is dealt with accordingly when discovered. You will see it on Page 1. But for every bad apple there are thousands of good ones, the ones you don't read about. As for taking drugs, don't count on it. Every Buffalo cop is random tested up to 4 times a year and a positive test results in dismissal. So friend, since you know the "truth", you know there is nothing you can do about it except abide by the laws to minimize your personal experiences with these "corrupt agencies". But if you have any information on any of this "corruption" it is your duty to report it to the proper authorities.

We can fill volumes with the shortcomings of the various systems that we both are familiar with and change, if it comes at all, comes slow. I really understand your frustrations officer and I hate to see you and the police force take such unfair hits..when the unfair hit comments are committed by the minority of officers. I do agree with some of the statements about the police, because I know they have happened to myself and those I know. But, I do not want to see law enforcement and the judicial system decline, in the minds of the vast public opinion! I get it, that there are people that write on here that are ignorant and I will attempt to educate them..if ever possible and I have tried. I do know you write like you are a smart, knowing and caring person and that your business takes hateful hits..a lot! People love the police when they need them and seem to hate them so much when they don't, and this attitude seems to make many officers so very distant from the public! I want to write to expose the truth about government and accountability, to change the minds of maybe some people, to pressure gov. agencies to accept scrutiny...so we may get back to law and order! You can sit back..that is ok..it is a war zone out there....but I know you are better than what you write..sometimes! Thank You.
