So now the BPO's become TAXI drivers? Where are the parents and/or guardians with the RESPONSIBILITY for "overseeing" these youthful "street wanderers"? If the guardians/parents were living up to their responsibilities, there wouldn't be a need for the "TAXI POLICE". Training BEGINS AT HOME!

oh,yeah, like when his teenage kid went out in the middle of the night, stole the family SUV, went for a joyride, smashed into a couple of parked cars, and everything was covered up for a couple of weeks.
Where was Mayor Brown then?
lol he can't even keep his eyes on his own kid but he wants to keep other kids in line?

I would lower the age to 16, make 10 o'clock the curfew time, and give the momma aunt in charge a hefty fine or jail time

Our lackluster carpetbagging mayor, Byron Blowhard Brown, grabs more headlines by forming a posse to nab kids and has set up a new jail for them. What about the murders, shootings, and rapes. The cops don't have time to be surrogate parents. While he's at it why doesn't Mayor Blowhard form a posse to get rid of the dozens of whores and drug dealers on Grant Street.

The city and the police shouldnt have to babysit they have enough to do! when I was a kid my parents said be home at set time and if I broke that (look out) I will watch my own children thank you!! Some parents just dont care what the children are doing and thats when trouble starts.
blame the deadbeat parents!!!!

They are not going to pay any fine, especially if the parents are incarcerated, which most probably are. This is a ridiculous story, police are not going to chauffer these kids around, look for parents that aren't around, and write tickets for a fine that will never be paid. But I bet the gun buy back will work!

No good kids and lousy no good liberal parents.

Kids jobs? Kids don't want to work and even the ones who are put to work during the summer (park) just sit on their fat, lazy behinds. A waste of taxpayer money.

You liberals and spending more moey. That's what you always do and it "NEVER" has worked. NEVER!

let me start by saying that the cops should not have to enforce a child's curfew that is the parents job.. but if they did not take away every right we have to be parents it would be a bit easier.. let me tell u a little story..
my stepson moved in he created havoc for my family for the whole time he lived with us.. u ask why because r u aware that at the age of sixteen he can be arrested and they do not have to tell u or call to inform u he has been arrested.. but u as the parent r responsible for the lawyer bill.. than that child is taught by the people who r suppose to be helping him that he can call a safe house at any time and say he feels he is endangered and they have to by law pick him up and take him to safe housing and the parent has no right to keep him at home.. I tried to ground my child no violence or bs and he went to a safe house cause he cried wolf .. this is the system they have for us parents to teach our children the right way ..****
u want to have the cops pick the kids up after curfew give me a break fix the system that gives kids more rights than their parents and we would not have as many issues...

I was being sarcastic. The buy back gives some extra cash to senior citizens, nothing more.

The fact of that matter is that this will not curb any violence. The parents of many of these hoodlums are no better than them. It's window dressing.
The cyclical excuses of this community in general are enough too. We've blamed the white devil, aliens & everyone else but OURSELVES!
Quit with the petty excuses and take action for yourself. Nobody forces us to live in squalor, sit on the porch and get drunk while normal people are working a job.
The promises by Clergy, Politicians and Community Leaders are false and only lend themselves a sound byte.

the promises of every politician r BS when it comes to raising our children until they change the laws.
If things were like it was when I was young and I did something wrong I got my A** whooped.. even if it left a small mark whatever no one did nothing .. now if u so much as punish ur kids to harshly..CPS is called and u gotta deal with them.. the rights of the parent have been removed by teachers, cps, gov't, and anyone else who can think of a reason to take those rights away.. let us raise our kids the right way and stop telling me I can spank my kids butt but heaven forbid I leave even a slight hand print..cps is screaming child abuse.. because some teacher or nosy neighbor dialed before they asked questions ..

all I know is thus far with exception to my stepson my kids r doing well but who knows how many more things they r going to learn in school to put up against mom and dad so that they can do what they want.. and the laws have given them the right to do that.. and charge us for it if they mess up and it is not right..
my stepson did it to me and I had no hand in raising him till he was a teenager by than I tried my best but he knew the system and used it against me every chance he got..
