Should we Drug Test welfare recipients monthly

The commonwealth of Virginia enacted a policy some years ago stating you get a maximum of 2 years on welfare and you get no more money for having more kids and guess what it worked!Also instead of the state dot workers mowing the grass in the medians of the interstates they farmed that out to private contractors producing more private sector jobs that also worked why cant NY state do the same thing?I will tell you whysome years ago when this happened a liberal democrat from NY was asked why this wouldnt work in NY and his response to that was"it might make a person take a job they wouldnt normally take."correct me if i'm wrong but if you dont have a job you should take whatever job you can find then work to try to get a better one I dont know call me crazy but that should be how it works.

Some medicaid plans pay for a taxi or van to take people to their appts and their welfare appts. So why pay some one to go door to door and do this testing. The van picks them up takes them to the hospital where there just happens to be a lab and when they test positive they are booted from the system. Refuse to go to the appt suspended until test is taken. We all know there are problems with the system but there are also people whom really need the temporary help. When I moved back to this state I could not find work and drained every last dime from my savings to keep up but after not having anything broke down swallowed my pride and went to get some help. They gave me way more than I needed but I did not use it all. I always had money left over at the end of the month and once I did find a job and had 2 paychecks under the belt I called the county and told them to discontinue my benefits. The county asked was I sure?
