This will do nothing to stop drug flow. It has temporarily erased supply, not demand. The officers' bravery is sadly misused for a failed policy which puts our good men in blue in much more danger than they need be in. Legalized regulation is the only way to stop illicit drug flow, just ask Al Capone. Drug regulation is too dangerous to leave in the hands of criminals.

Maybe if Sharkey would put these guys in jail before they got so big we wouldn't have so many problems. He has given too many breaks to known drug traffickers...

Its the tip of the ice berg. If you think that was a big dent you gotta nother thing comming . The Government is stupid to not tax and legalize it . Many of the law abiding citizens use marijuana for medical purposes and it has zero fatal side effects unlike most drugs that the FDA has approved ,due to the lobby efforts of the drug companys. When will we get it together?

To really get serious there should be a ten year sentence for one joint and death sentence for dealers, as is in several other countries...
until then nothing will change...

I think it all has to do with politics. Remember this is an election year.

BRILLIANT, lets spend hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to lock up someone for doing what?????GROWING A PLANT wow brilliant enforcer,,,hey do you realize that when congress passed the anti pot bill in the 30s,,the leading doctors were against illegalizing it. it wasnt until just days before that the physcians association was informed that the deadly marijuana that they wrote letters against because of its social effects,,,was indeed cannabis hemp,,and the congressional committee refused any further testimony, closed hearings and outlawed weed,,,funny how all you law enforcement types, with your moral high ground attitude are the same lying, crooks that make the laws that do nothing but screw people,,****,pots a plant,,a damn plant,,oh but that wont keep a cop working will it

This misconception of 'legalization'...boy I can't wait for that! You know how the Gov't does things...of course only Gov't approved, packaged, taxed & stamped marijuana cigarettes will be legal. And it will be so watered down with 'fillers', it will be like 3.2 beer. So anyone caught with 'homegrown' or 'imported' will still be locked up, just like if you were walking down the street with an open beer...If people just grew a little of their own, and kept it home, there would be no problem. But every frybrain has to go downtown and smoke in the back lot of the bar, you know just to be kool...Legalize it, and nothing will change...because people are so stupid, why do you think they call it DOPE...
