look around georgianna, there are soooooo many empty and boarded up houses all over the city.
As to Mayor Brown's sweep against crime: that's a laugh.
Earlier this year, he got caught in a lie.
There were 2 teens, dubbed "the brick burglars," who would throw a brick in a back window and wait if an alarm would go off or an occupant would come and investigate. Once they determined no one was home, they would come in and rob the place.
This happened in the Bailey/Genesee/Doat area. Mayor Brown was quoted in the paper that once a pattern was detected, the nieghborhood was alerted. This was a lie, no one alerted anyone on Antwerp, even though one of the breakins occured on our street. Checking with residents on the surrounding streets showed none of them were alerted either.
Sweep on crime, yeah, what did he do when that elderly lady was murdered on Blaine Ave, a block from his own house? Did he even bother to come out to the vigil for her? Nope.
And don't forget the coverup when his own son stole the family SUV and banged up a couple of parked cars.
Yeah, Brown the liar.

How can this not be a great idea. Anytime the effort is made by the mayor and city officials to clean up your city must be applauded.

Ray, you live in California, where things make sense. We are talking about Buffalo, where the only time the mayor and city officials make an effort is when the tv cameras are rolling.
Then the "effort" lasts about 2 weeks, and then everything goes back the way it was.

Yeah, Brown the liar.
Brown is really concerned about the drug situation on the WEST SIDE ...because so many of his officers were on the take with the dealers..and that is a fact...Buffalo! Bricks, his son, serial criminals of all crimes, are just second to the embarrassment of officers on the take. Allegedly... one of them got caught on a sex charge with a college student, first..lucky they got him on this before their investigation went further. It was actually investigated and/ or in the process, by the way!

You missed the point:
Brown SAID THAT NEIGHBORS WERE NOTIFIED ABOUT THE BREAK INS. AND WE WERE NOT!
HE GOT CAUGHT IN A LIE.
If you were living in an area that was having breakins left and right and the MAYOR, our city's LEADER tells a LIE, you would not think this is a secondary issue.

I did not indicate in what I said that your issue about breakins was secondary..to me! The point was to tell you that it "is" to the mayor. I attempted to tell you what really was mandatory on his mind, which happened not to be your problem..which is very serious, of course! The mayor's concern is always going to be about scandal, waterfront protection and building with big bucks in Buffalo! So..if you really believe that he is on top of real taxpayer quality of life issues...you are mistaken. This is not my view, but what I know about him personally and read about him! So sorry!
