Let me get this straight...this guy is a accused murderer and she wants to sue!!! Ok when she wins her suit the family of the person her husband was accused of killing should sue her for double of what she wins.
I think she needs to have some psychiatric help herself!!!

I had felt sorry for this woman (especially with a family member being a victim of her own husband), now I believe she falls into the same category as her late husband, she should be ashamed of herself.

Abuse is abuse no matter whose hand it is dealt from! As for a recovery of money on her end..I don't think so..how about better training for the guards!

How outrageous and sickening...Only in America can a woman look to reap benefits from her insane, sadistic, murdering husband. The families of the slain women should look into suing this widow. Perhaps if she had been a more attentive wife, her husband wouldn't have been able to go unnoticed...out killing defenseless elderly women and stashing their bodies.
She should count her blessings that he is out of this world rather than looking to make a quick buck out of a situation that has already created enough pain. I hope she loses. Losers should lose.

I totally agree with you. He was a scumbag and so is she.

Has the roof at Alden Correctional Facilty been fixed yet? Its tough to get answers and even the News Channels don't seem to be able to....

Lawyers will take on any case if they smell money. I am sure some hearse hound sweet talked her into filing a suit. She won't see a dime but the lawyer will make out. Any dealings I have ever had with a lawyer made me trust them less each time.

Hmm, i havn't sued for anything yet, what should i sue for... People need to get a life, the guy killed elderly women, he should have died, its the worlds way of getting even. PS, to whoever wrote that guards need better training, It isnt the guards fault if he wal malnurished and dehydrated, inmates go on hunger strikes all the time.

Uuuummm, so the vast majority believe not only in capital punishment, (of which I am for) but a nurse, a doctor, whomever should be able to make that decision whenever and however they want. No, our schools are in great shape. Great buncha thinkers we got out here.

The sad thing is she will win. With what little information we were given it looks like the county was negligent.

I am the sister of the accused. If you followed the case you would know the detention center denied reports of a hunger strike.I feel that the system failed the woman and my brother. He battled mental illness his whole life. There are cases that use mental illness as an exuse.I feel that this truly was not one of them.Everyone lost in this tragic case

The name of the psychiatrist being accused in the lawsuit..Dr. Brian Joseph is not to be believed! This Dr. is brilliant, ethical and a man of great integrity! This Dr. was paid by the state to find me psychotic, because I charged an elected Judge I worked with, in the 90's, with sexual abuse and harassment, as well as participating in this same conduct with 5 other women, that came forward after myself! This Dr. did not distort his report on 2 state requested occasions, ordered to please the state insurance fund..who paid him well to do the above. He found that the Buffalo Court System was purposely messing with me, with these attempts to destroy me personally and professionally! I stand by Dr.Joseph 1000% and do not believe he would ever allow someone to die in the manner that this man died! Dr Joseph is an excellent practioner and I know his work from the courts for over 25 yrs! Don't believe the reports about him ...they can never be true!

There is a phrase to describe both the widow and the late jerk..."sub societal debris". This is the definition to describe people who we try to shove out of our way with our foot as we walk through life. They cling and hang on for anything we will drop or throw their way and all the time looking for more and more for free from society. Some people just deserve to be stepped on and these two sound like perfect examples.

I'm sorry, but I don't feel bad about the situation. In my mind, if you kill someone and try to hide bodies in a barrel in a barn, then you know it's wrong, and you know you are trying to hide the fact, therefore , he knows whats going on, I don't believe in "mentally unfit" crap the state deals with. No one is entitled to any money other than the victims families, and unfortunetly your family ISN'T one of them. And I'm also sorry to say your sister in law is a pig if she thinks she's entitled to file suit, tell her to move to another state. The only people that were let down were the victims, and if your brother was mentally unfit all these years, why didn't you or your sister in law report it years ago.
