Hey when you walk off the job I'll be more than happy to take over. Can't be that hard to eat doughnuts and drink coffee while watching someone else do the work. when they put the ad in the paper to hire scabs I'll first in line, I have no problem taking food form you, heck maybe we can get some of the migrant mexican farm workers to do your job, I'm sure they can do it and in half the time for half the pay and never complain about a thing.
oh well for you

I can't believe the petty, small minded people, who can be so cruel to others in these blogs. If you're jealous of the union workers, then get a job with a company that has one. If not don't criticize them for trying to improve their working conditions and benefits. Companies without unions can hire and fire at will, and raise and cut pays and benefits with no recourse. Please keep it nice or go and play somewhere else, maybe China!!!

Time Warner in big trouble now. There is labor piece at Verizon and Verizon clearly has the superior product in FIOS. Their highly skilled workforce will deliver for this Company and Time Warner and their anti worker corporate model will go away with their tail between their legs. Time Warner pays their employees far below the industry standard, denies them rights to table, and claims they are the leader in the industry. Why is Time Warner advertising so much? Be afraid, Verizon has all the momentum now and we will build and provide the superior telecommunication product

<quoted text>I don't have to work in freezing temps in the winter, etc.- I went to college and got a good education. I make my money sitting in a cozy office and I hire someone else to bail out my basement. I also don't need a union to protect my butt. If your husband doesn't like to endure the elements, maybe he needs to find other work. That is, if he knows how to do anything else.

Sorry, I do realize not everyone is as great as I am. That's why unions were created. To protect those less-unfortunate.

Go ahead and work for verizon with no job protection and see how long you stay employed!
What "job protection" are you talking about? there is no such thing in any job or in any industry unless you work for a union that most people in this country dont.no company has an obligation to make sure you have a job for life with them. Every time you union people open your mouths you bite off your nose to spite your face and you expect sympathy from the rest of us . Its also time the CSEA find out what the real world is like.

Not my fault wrote:
For years,Verizon employess have had to listen to all the negative comments from the public. Well, listen to this! Is it our fault that you might not make a good wage? NOT! Have you applied for a job @ Verizon & not gotten hired? Maybe you weren't qualified enough or there were thousands of others applying for the same job. Is that my fault? NOT! Is it our fault inflation is rising so that you can't make ends meet? NOT! I can't make ends meet either and I make a good wage. I have raised/am raising 3 kids on my wage alone and I have struggled just like most everyone else. I sypmpathize will all those that don't make a decent wage but IT'S NOT MY FAULT! I especially sympathize with the next generation coming up. I have no idea how anyone is going to be able to support themselves, let alone, a family. But, it isn't my fault. Did we make a stink about the increase in the minimum wage? Not! I pay taxes, buy products and services just like you. Where do you think this country would be if there weren't unions looking out for workers' rights decades ago? How about looking to government that allows these companies to send the jobs overseas leaving America with minimum wage jobs. For those that this applies to, how about looking in the mirror and asking yourself if you have put forth your best effort to get a better paying job.
It was not ones fault if they were not hired at Verizon, the only people that were hired were family of the current workers who were given the answers to the pre-employment test questions.
