More power to you Verizon workers!!! I just saw on the news. You are right! Why should the higher ups receive lifetime benefits and exorbitant salaries? It happens all the time. Stand up for what you believe in. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!!

Time Warner is another union busting company. We will never end this cycle of spirling downward wages and benefits until corporate greed is stopped.Time Warner,Verizon take care of the top managers. Ivan Seidenberg makes $100,000.00 A DAY, and has free health for life.. a benefit that is given to the rest of the executive board. Collectively they were paid over $80 million last year. VZ screwed lower management by freezing their pensions. CUSTOMERS BE DAMNED. What's next? Soon we will all be living below the poverty level and we will only have ourselves to blame. It's time to stand up to corporate greed. Stand up for good paying jobs. Stop outsourcing. When decent wages and benefits are not paid by very profitable companies our economy, our communities suffer. Instead of being mad at the union employees at Verizon for trying to hang on to what every American should have, get involved. Work for healthcare for all and the employees right to choose whether or not they want to join a union.

Also, if anyone thinks that verizon cutting wages and health care benefit's to the union workers will bring a reduction in their phone bill, i have to laugh! the only thing that will happen is Ivan will have more of your money to fuel his jet for vacations!

Everyone automatically assumes this is about money and that workers just want more of it. What about job security, retirement protections and good quality jobs that enhance and contribute to the community. These workers care about the work that they do, are very skilled in their craft and take pride in there work. Because of corporate "ploys" call centers for repair reporting and ordering of services have been shifted overseas. If you think $17 is a lot of money, what about the people in India that are being paid $300 per month with NO BENEFITS that our workforce here in WNY used to do. Did your phone bill go down when Verizon saved all that money????? BTW, Still in South Buffalo, if you consider Time Warners prices cheap, you are the minority. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL UNION WORKFORCE!!!!

I changed to Time Warner for phone service. Verizon's charges per month were outragous. Every other line on the bill was a hidden surcharge. I was loyal until I needed service on my phone due to static and they told me it would $ 65.00 to send out a tech. That was the end of that.

Verizon sucks and their employees stink too. The customer service department is manned by a bunch of overpaid morons. They need to get rid of the union. Unions protect the lazy good for nothing worker who is earning way too much. Get rid of the union and hire people who want to work - problem solved.

Time Warner is the one who SUCKS! They are overcharging and their service is a joke! My bill was raised almost $20.00 in a little over a year, and I still get channels that break up and channels I don't watch! They try and tell you if you were an Adelphia customer, you will be paying less than what they charge now for the same service. I tried to cut some of my channels down and ended up paying MORE! You go Verizon workers! Fight for what you believe in! Go blow Time Warner!

Last I checked those government surcharges and taxes are on our bills to.

I dont really think that a strike with verizon for job security and keeping the work in our country is a little thing. The fact is if the jobs are sent overseas, and there is no job security it would have a greater impact on our economy which would mean more unemployment, oh, but thats ok...im sure you dont mind paying more in taxes to help the unemployed.

As a union worker I'm very happy you're switching from Verizon Wireless (a non-union shop) to AT&T (a union shop)! Just so you know this contract has nothing to do with Verizon Wireless. As for the Verizon workers wanting a raise, you need to get your facts. The biggest issue on the table is job security and health care, NOT MONEY! Verizon workers are hard workers and deserve everything they get. You try working all day to please people who don't know what they're talking about......

Today they will cut anyones position to save a buck. You think their is no loyalty in pro sports, the same can be said for the corporate world. Everything is about the dollar and the bottom line. Employees are just a number and expendable. If you believe otherwise you are mistaken.
