It's about time. I cant wait no more going miles down the road.

We do not need another mega store in that area of town. Traffic is bad enough as it is and Wal-Mart will only do more harm. I blame all urban sprawl in Lancaster on Mr. Giza. The man is a joke and continues to ruin our town. I will never understand why people keep voting him to office... completely useless in ALL aspects of his job.

HURRAY!!! It's about time! Although with Target there now, it's almost dumb to have it. But even before Target and Kohls came in people were fighting it. It will create jobs and competitive pricing! It's where it belongs - on a major road. If you don't like it, then don't go there - don't ruin it for the rest of us! Just like if you don't like to gamble, then don't go to the casinos - don't ruin it for the rest of us!

People like you do not see the entire picture. In addition to the traffic problem...Wal-Mart sells 95% of its goods that are made in CHINA! We need to take our country back and support stores that do their best to sell American made goods whenever possible. That's OK.. keep buying Wal Mart junk from China and end up with health problems later. Have you forgotten about all the tainted products from China??????? In response to your "casino" remark. I have nothing against gambling but I do when we do not receive tax revenue on land Indians purchased. Another subject for another time.

You let me know if you find anything that truly is 100% made in USA.. almost everything has some parts made from other countries... and packaging made of plastic is created by using Oil which, last time I checked, is primarly from outside of this country because people like YOU keep preventing us from drilling here...
I suppose you never shop at Kmart, Target, Wegmans, Tops, Kohls, Mobil, JC Penney, Bon Ton etc..? They all sell items sold outside of this country... |

Hi Debbie from Lancaster....
You make excellent points and many people including myself agree. Just remember... people that "like" Walmart and Chinese products are too dumb to see the real picture. It doesn't pay to argue with stupid people... they have tunnel vision. |

Way to go Lancaster!- I wonder how much the town board made on this deal? Who is on the town board and do we still want them there. Does Lancaster really need a Super Walmart, considering there is a Target ACCROSS THE STREET. Are we trying to become the next Amherst? Well, atleast now the people of Lancaster can do their grocery shopping and christmas shopping at the same store. The only safe haven now is East Aurora!

FYI: Yes, I do shop at all places mentioned but also do my best to pick products made in USA, Canada.. anywhere but China. I am also for drilling here at home as well fully aware it would our economy.

GIVE IT TIME... EAST AURORA WILL BE NEXT.. In regards to our Lancaster board.. they are horrible!!! |

Yes... I do shop at all places mentioned but also do my best to buy products made in USA or basically anywhere but China! I AM for drilling here at home to help our economy. |

Debbie and Matt from Lancaster needs to stop looking down their noses at people who don't share their point of view. I for one love the Chinese and all the affordable products they put into the commerce stream. Walmart is a well run responsible corporate citizen who should be able to set up shop where ever they see a need. I find it amusing that every time I see the "opposition" to Walmart on TV they always seem to be 12 of the same turds crying the same river of predictable tears; "Walmart is from China, Walmart doesn't pay health insurance, Walmart blah blah blah..." Get over it! My wish is that I would not have to drive more than 10 miles in any direction from my house to find a Walmart or, better yet, a Super Walmart. My friends in East Aurora will soon be having the convenience of Walmart shopping too. And when they do they can stop all their Janus-faced jibberjabber and stop complaining about the great corporate Devil Walmart in their backyard while they secretly shop at the one in mine. Rock on Walmart.

Like Matt said... no sense talking to people with tunnel vision.... |
|
do you love all the tainted products as well? Do you REALLY think these are good products for our citizens? What planet do you live on? |
|
|
As stated earlier - if you don't want to shop there, then don't. I see no reason why you need to try to ruin it for anyone else that likes to shop close to home...
The Target across the street is extremely limited in the clothing department. And let's not forget that Walmart wanted to come in LONG before Target...but there was no oppostion from Cheektowaga because they knew that it would be good for the town to have somewhere to shop that is close for its' residents! |

Tainted products? What, a few toys with lead paint? I can almost predict your next comment: "Walmart is anti-union". Well He11 Yes they are, if they weren't we'd be paying $14 for a $2 item. The unions and the democrats have ruined NYS. And now the libs, in true lib fashion want to tell us what is good for us as if they are the only ones with any sense. I hope Walmart plans more stores for our area so I can drive there to shop in my 14 MPG SUV. Oh wait, is an SUV a tainted product too?

EVERYONE, EVERYONE, I strongly recommend you take a moment and watch this episode of south park, by everyone I mean adults ...
http://www.southparkstudios.com/episodes/ Season 8, episode 9 - "Something Walmart this way" All I ask is you watch the episode and have an open mind. This accurately depicts the way american society reacts to MEGA CORPORATIONS- Watch it, |

cool....now there are 7 wal-marts on transit!!
how many freaking wal-marts does WNY need???? |
|
|
As many as the market will support. Nobody complains when another Wegmans goes up.

Danny wegman was from the local,Rochester area. It's great to support local business- I consider wegmans local and their service is execellent! And wegmans is in the top 100 corporations to work for, I believe walmart is in the top 100 corporations NOT to work for. And they are from the south. And if you are a true bargain shopper, then you already know walmart prices are usually a bit higher for groceries, and their produce just barely meets standards, dollar for dollar- wegmans and tops are the best- a gallon of milk at walmart is almost always 1.50 more then of tops / wegmans. When is the last time you heard of a scholarship for Walmart - wegmans gives out thousands every year to local employees. Walmart is bad , period- Don't tell me job growth, I would say $8.00 hourly is not enough to live in Lancaster, so most employees will not be from around here, also, the money we put in we will never see, we just keep feeding this monster. What ever happened to self expression, soon everyone will be wearing the same clothes, have the same tv's / outdoor grills and patio sets, I for one enjoy shopping around at different stores, it doesn't say much about an individual who can shop for their entire family at one store.

So what if they don't live in Lancaster. I support the creation of a bus line straight from the east side right to the front door of the new SUPER Walmart on Transit so those of you in Lancaster can get a little taste of multiculturalism. You argument in support of product diversity is equally as flawed. We already do buy the same things, drive the same cars and eat the same foods. I suggest that you stay out of the new SUPER Walmart and save the $1.50 milk up-charge and put in in the tank of your Prius. Welcome to my backyard Walmart, I am glad you decide to come to the party. :p
