The best news I've heard in a long time is the signing of Ryan Miller to a five year extension. This is OUR year to bring home the cup !

If Byffalo can keep him it is a plus. Must also say that Lindy Ruff has been a good fit for them and I hope he will be around for some time to come.

Not too bad a price considering he plays next year for much less.

Good move for the Sabre's. Miller is the key to making the Sabre's a contender in the next few years.

He had a bad season last year, Now, 6 mil/yr seems high, in a couple years it won't be. He better start living up to the bucks by stopping pucks..

I really think signing Miller for that length of time is a big mistake. Hes not a goalie whos going to be good enough to win the stanley cup. He's not an elite goalie in this league. This was the worst move the Sabres could of made. But we should be getting used to them making stupid mistakes. They are running this team into the ground. No playoffs again this year.

I'm sorry to say that I totally agree with you. Miller's consistency is just not at the point of an elite goalie. We can only hope that his play improves to the point where he deserves that contract. I wonder if the Sabre's ever had his eyes checked because it seems to me that he has the most trouble with the long shots from the point.

I think the team got a deal. Maybe not making the playoffs saved the team a few bucks. Let's hope they don't overwork him

You dont even know what your talking about. Miller is an all star, he only had a bad year because he had to play like 78 games and faces more shots. There is no one out there that is hands down better than him.

The contract should have been only for 3 yrs MILLER is a good goalie not a superior one he was over rated last year A 3 yr contract is a long one for a guy that is getting near 30 yes there are some that still are good after 30 but they are very rare I just want to see good hockey this season not that crap of slaning into the boards Ive seen many hits that were not necessary I want good hockey

Peter is completely drunk, Buffalo is an embarrassment to what was one of the most important and leading-edge cities in the United States.

Bloody8Vet and Laura; hold your condemnations. Time will tell if this was a BIG MISTAKE or not. Watching this past play-offs I couldn't believe we got rid of Martin Biron. That guy showed GENIUS in net.. He appeared (to me) to effortlessly stop impossible shots. But when we got rid of him, no one cried 'big mistake'.

What I've seen from Miller isn't "elite" at all, But I'm sure no one is naive enough to think he would be a weak link in a Stanley Cup run...

I think Ryan Miller is an okay goalie, but he makes great plays, but he lets the easiest goals get in. Ryan needs to prove to everyone that he really deserves that contract, and he needs to show people what he can do, because he does have a lot of talent, but he just needs to show it in a better way. Oh yeah, I love Jason Pominville!
