Loud Motorcycles

i think your all jealous because mommy held you to much when you were little and told you everything is unsafe unless your in a tank driving down the road bottom line is it is unsafe to ride road hazards all over the place animals weather ect ect so why make it worse with the attitude with bikers you are all not innocent i have loud pipes on my bike because of you people that talk on the phone or are fighting with your spouse ive heard some wives who dont even compare to the loudness of a bike (my condolences bro) not to mention people who just hate bikers just because and cut in front or pull out in front you know who you are any way get rid of all that and keep your hands at 10 and 2 do the speed limit stop at the lights instead of trying to beat them use your signals and i will give up my pipes

Right on Brother! These cage drivers just can't understand what it's like to be on the open road on your bike. Ride hard, live free, or die.

I live on a street with a gas station on the corner and I am sick of BOTH loud bikes and boom-boom stereos!! You can hear the bikes for miles. And the stereos - they leave them booming while they fill up. Totally inconsiderate of anyone but themselves.

All that noise is just false security for bikers. Overtaking a car in the blind spot the sound is not always clear. Also a car pulling out and not seeing the bike is not helped by loud pipes.

If you want the motorcycles quieted how about also enforcing the noise ordinance on the Bangers in Da Hood with the Gang Banger Rap blaring and shaking the windows on the houses and make it impossible to hear anything else when your driving next to them! They are just as bad. Also the glass pack mufflers must go on the cars. They are the same ones who go screeching and speeding down the streets around here also. Time for them all to quite down.

so far im not seeing any harm done by loud pipes on bikes. on the other hand i read people want to cut off bikers people in cars think they have the right of way before a bike so on and so on. my question is how many people have been hurt by a bike with loud pipes? compared to people just being stupid and not paying attention and hitting a biker. people if loud pipes cause accidents i would gladly give up mine but thats not the case its people just being stupid if it make me feel a little more secure from the idiots so what its a little loud noise its not like we sit there in front of you and just rev the engine just to pi$$ you off

As if the stink radiating off the bikers isn't loud enough. I suggest bikers ride with shorts, flip-flops and t-shirts so after they are hit by the person who didn't hear them they will succumb to the road-rash injuries and we won't have to listen to their annoying loud pipes anymore.

You DO have as much right to the road as everyone else. However, this "biker's are victims of all the bad drivers" is a huge smokescreen. I've seen or come upon a lot of motorcycle accidents in my life. I've seen a fair share of accidents caused by cars, but MOST of the time the accidents were caused by the bikers.

The loud pipes save lives thing is a crock of shite, riding your bike safely will save many more lives. A busy road runs behind my house and every day I see bikers easily going 75-80 MPH or doing wheelies in the center turning lane. Sometimes they are doing both! I realize these guys have to compensate for their tiny wee wees somehow but I hope when they eventually cause an accident they only kill themselves!

The stats you quote from are for single vehicle accidents. Obviously the cause of most single vehicle accidents are the fault of the operator whether it be a motorcycle or automobile.

The following is a quote from a report stating the opposite of what you say....

6. In the multiple vehicle accidents, the driver of the other vehicle violated the motorcycle right-of-way and caused the accident in two-thirds of those accidents.

7. The failure of motorists to detect and recognize motorcycles in traffic is the predominating cause of motorcycle accidents. The driver of the other vehicle involved in collision with the motorcycle did not see the motorcycle before the collision, or did not see the motorcycle until too late to avoid the collision.

This report also lends credence to the statement that loud pipes save lives because of number 7. If the loud pipes allows other motorists to detect and recognize motorcycles sooner it would reduce collisions therefore save lives.

I take it you're an expert on "tiny wee wees". Must be because of your tiny brain! The reason I say this is because a biker doing wheelies at 75-80 MPH has nothing to do with loud pipes. You can very easily safely ride a bike with loud pipes.
