Family, I think you're just the same person posting over and over again.
You don't leave an infant in a car, unattended for two minutes or twenty minutes. That's the point. The kids are well cared for, ok, why? they had clean clothes on? Well cared for children are not left unattended in a car for ANY length of time.
How many children have been kidnapped in this world because Mom or Dad just 'turned their back FOR A MINUTE'? Allot can happen in one minute.

People who excuse this type of behavior as a "mistake" drive me nuts. I will bet any amount of money it isn't the first time they have done it, it just so happens to be the first time they got "caught." Same as people with DUIs saying it was the FIRST time they ever drove drunk. I'm sure if the neighbor was involved, it was because there were other instances like this. Again, there were TWO parents there, why wasn't one with the kids?

I find it hard to believe the cops showed up in 2 minutes. Baloney! They were probably drunk or high on something these low life beings leaving their poor children in the scorching hot car!

Yep, Yep, and Yep. You don't leave kids in the car for ANY length of time, and the behavior of the oldest was very telling ... he was afraid and refused to cooperate with the police when they told him to unlock the door. At the age of 9, he should have complied with the police -- that is, unless this wasn't the first time he was left in the car with his siblings and he's been told to keep the door locked under any circumstances.
What were the parents doing? Buying dope? Doing dope? Mom's 22, Dad's 21 and the oldest kid is 9? There's the problem. This excellent, story-book, picture perfect mother of three was a 13 year old mom. She's still a kid who didn't have a childhood because she popped out her first Pez when she was still in middle school. When the *bleep* is the state going to stop making the working taxpayer foot the bill for every 12 year old who wants to play mommy?
We need to go back to the days of making the parents of these '**** responsible -- financially, emotionally and legally -- for their kids and the offspring they bring into this world until they reach the age of majority. Cut off the welfare, WIC, foodstamps, medicaid and Section 8. Make Mom and Pops responsible for all those little kidlets their wayward teens are having and this crap of young parents abusing and neglecting their kids to death while they're out doing God-knows-what might just stop.

So it's ok that they are leaving SOMEONE ELSE'S child unattended as well as their own children? I know you are trying to clear up a misconception that this irresponsible parent (22 yrs old) does not have a 9 year old child, but COME ON! You don't leave kids in a car unattended, yours or someone else's. There was a 6 week old baby in the car. What is a 9 year doing locked in a car with a 6 week old baby?

wow for someoneone with so much knowledge apparently you arent as smart as you think you are or havent followed the story because the 9 year old isnt even their child..do yourself a favor and get all the facts before you go speaking on something you havent a clue about ========== You just keep dancing around and making excuses for those p***-poor excuses. They left those kids in the car for WHAT REASON? Why couldn't one of the parents stay with the kids? Why did BOTH adults have to go inside and leave the children locked in a tightly sealed car in the 80+ degree temperatures? WHAT WERE THEY DOING? How many times do we have to read and hear about kids dying in hot vehicles before it finally sinks in that it CAN happen to us -- and it CAN happen in just a few minutes, especially with a young infant.
Come on, FAMILY...run your mouth now. Instead of tap dancing and making excuses, give us some answers!! Explain to us why these children had to be left in the car unattended -- even if it was only for a few minutes.
Share your wisdom. Tell us what was SO important that BOTH of those adults had to be inside the air conditioned building while the children were locked tight in a hot car with no ventilation. WHAT WAS SO IMPORTANT? WHAT NEEDED BOTH ADULTS' UNDIVIDED ATTENTION? Please tell us, oh Wise One. We're not white trash. We don't understand the need to neglect our kids for... what? a nickel bag?

Mr. Hamburg -- maybe in your weirdo country, drunk driving, beer for breakfast and leaving your kids alone is OK. However, we live in America and it's not permitted here.
Like a lot of others, I raised my 4 kids and never..N-E-V-E-R..left them locked in a car. They went inside with me and they stayed by my side when we were in public. Oh, and I did it alone. I didn't have the option of leaving the other parent in the car with them while I did what I needed to do, because he wasn't around anymore.
You need to go eat your knockwurst and stick to what you know, because American laws and the English language certainly aren't your forte.
