Who in the heck leaves small children in a hot car - even for a few minutes? A creative part of the couple's sentence.....They should be left inside a locked closed up car in the sun for a half hour or more so they can see what it feels like. People like this make my blood boil.

I would like to know what goes through these parents mind when thinking of leaving their children in the car. As a mother of 2 young children I would never do this!!!!!!!! I have carried 2 sleeping children into a store to get something that I really needed. I really feel for the children but these parents don't deserve to have them!!!

Ok for everyone reading this.. I am the brother of mthe father of the two kids. I know for a fact he did not leave those kids in the car for more than 2 minutes. This is getting blown completely out of proportion. I know they love their kids very much and would never put their kids in the way of danger. Also, the police officer wrote false statements when he said the kids were "sweating". It's a sad in this world when the media tries to ruin someones life. We fighting these allegations and the truth will come out in the end!

To the brother of the father of these children:
I realize you love your brother and he loves his kids, BUT, children should NOT BE LEFT ALONE ANYWHERE, FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME. To say it was not more than 2 minutes does not make it OK. Parents have the responsibility to CARE for their children as well as love them. If both parents were there, why couldn't one stay with the kids? There couldn't be anything more important that they had to do, nothing. Nothing is more important than your children

I wish everyone knew the facts before they make vicious comments about these parents. We are the family of the parents and know they did not leave the children in the car for 30 min. This is an absolute false statement made by police and the media. The children were checked out at the hospital (we were all there) and the doctor said,Ï can tell these kids are well taken care of....and she wrote that in the report. They were not sweating or in any danger. They were given back to the parents and returned home! I am outraged by how a simple incident can be taken out of context. Now these parents are being totally scrutinized just of a neighbor who does not like them. This is terrible. We are a family who cares about our children and would never put them in harms way!

Two parents were there? Is that right? So, one parent stays in the car with the children with the AC running or the windows open, the other parent does whatever it is they need to do. Simple. Given the math of two parents, it makes it a no brainer. I'm not trying to be vicious, but I have had to cart multiple children at varying ages in and out of cars to get my business done. I can tell you from experience, it's not fun. But leaving them unattended in a car is inexcusable. I would have been thrilled to have an extra parent (or adult) around on many days to sit in the car with a sleeping child so I could get the dreaded loaf of bread or gallon of milk.....but if I didn't, I carted them all out with me and dealt with it. Part of being a parent. Sometimes it isn't easy/pretty/pleasant, but they are tiny and they rely on you. What could these TWO parents possibly have to say to excuse leaving kids alone in a car with no one there to watch them and keep the car cool?

I to am a family member, and yes all facts should be known before any accusations are thrown, whatever happened to innocent untill proven guilty, the police report is wrong and there is documnentation to prove this..they arrived home at approximately 4:02pm and police showed up shortly after 4:00pm....i received a phone call at 4:18pm from samantha...so you do the math any way you add it it doesnt equal 30 minutes...I too was at the hospital when the DR stated that the children were all healthy and well taken care of and were not in any danger, it sickens me the way people comment without knowing the whole truth...yes it wasnt right to leave the children even for a moment, but we are all human no one is perfect..you have 2 young parents that had a lapse of judgement, does their life deserve to be destroyed over this..i think not..those children are well cared for and very much loved, which is why they are still at home where they belong!

Sorry, not buying it. A vindictive neighbor calls the polce? And then the police show up within a few minutes? In Niagara Falls? Nice try. And where were the parents during the few minutes it took the police to show up - if that is the case? Who in the heck leaves a 6 week old baby (and 2 other kids) unattended in a car for ANY LENGTH OF TIME? Geez. Stop defending them and say "Golly, that was a horrible mistake, they could probably use some education about caring for young children." As for their lapse of judgement and worrying about the "young parents' whose lives may be destroyed over this, as you put it.....They should be grateful they were caught and they didn't have the deaths of three young children (whose lives would be permanently destroyed) to pay for their "lapse of judgement." Sorry, as a parent, you don't get many second chances. When you're that young, don't have so many children if you are incapable of taking care of them. No pity party for them, maybe some parenting classes and some court ordered supervision. I don't wish them harm, I just fear for their children.

And where were the parents during the few minutes it took the police to show up - if that is the case?] I was thinking along the same lines. There is no way a call to the police was made and the police show up all within the "2 minutes" the family is claiming. Maybe these parents made a stupid choice or mistake but don't try to lie to cover it up. Admit your stupidity and vow to learn from your mistakes or educate others. If you cannot admit that you were wrong in doing this, then there is little hope that you will change.

again an idiot that doesnt get the facts i didnt sat the police showed up shortly after 4pm they did...below a clipping from the article in the gazette Officers responded to the 2400 block of Willow Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. i think people need to worry more about whats going on in their lives and less about others if the children were in danger they NEVER would have been released to their parents ro begin with wow people amaze me seriously...they made a mistake they know they did so go find some other gossip to follow

Hey, it was the so-called brother who claimed it was only 2 minutes. If the children were not still in the car when they arrived, the police would have had nothing to charge them with. I have no idea if it really was 30 minutes but I was just making the point that it was most certainly longer than 2 minutes. Thankfully they were okay when checked out at the hospital. Also, just because they were released to the parents doesn't mean anything. They are the parents and the hospital has little choice unless they were in immediate danger or were actually physically harmed. I just want to hear these parents admit they made a stupid mistake and have your enabling family stop whining. People need to learn from their mistakes instead of making excuses. I'll stop worrying about others when others take responsibility for their own actions. Stop worrying yourself about what others are saying about your family members and go hug those children and remind the parents about responsible parenting. Hopefully they have learned their lesson and are better parents for it. I'll be the first to admit that all parents have room for improvement. In my erxperience, it is the people who get all defensive and make excuses who are the most unlikely to change.

To the Brother and Family of these Parents:
Your outrage is misplaced.....
I realize it is difficult, but, PUT THE CHILDREN FIRST, that goes not only for the parents who clearly made a near tragic mistake today, but for the family too. Those of you who are spending time expressing your outrage at police, claiming their report is wrong, at the media, claiming they are destroying the parents lives, at the people posting comments, claiming they should mind their own business. All of that energy should be used to encourage the parents to ADMIT that they made a very serious mistake, encourage them to take responsibility, stop making excuses, stop minimizing the seriousness of the situation and LEARN from this. Finally, thank God that their children are fine and make sure that they stay that way. The problem today is that too few people take responsibility and too many make excuses and blame everyone else. To be and adult, you have to act like one. Children need adult parents.

I have children. I never left any child in the car IF they were bound legally to a car seat. On the other hand my 14 year old son HATES shopping and he sits in the car every time I have to run in for Milk or what not. At the same time he is more then capable of attending him self, rolling my non powered windows down and so on. When I bought my car I was sure to get windows that were NOT powered for this reason I needed to be sure my kids could roll them up and down. Children over luxury.
Ok the fact is some times bad things happen to great people. And nothing happens to the bad. About 6 years ago I took a trip over seas. My children were with a family member. It was winter, she got Gas and left the car with her two and my two in it, all of them under 6 years old. She walked away for 2 minutes to pay for the gas but left the car running. Her son puts the car in gear and it hits another car. I can not tell you how angry this made me, when I get off the plane and head home I am visited by CPS whom told me the story. What a welcome huh! Needless to say nothing was done, nothing more then a CPS record. To this day I refuse to leave my kids with her.
I understand where the family is coming from, at the same time I understand how deadly it COULD have been.
