No one should be glad when a police officer is killed on the job, but you must admit that everybody makes a bigger deal out of it than it ought to be

People are killed on the job every day. Highway workers...constuction workers...window washers...those guys who catch snow crabs in Alaska...farmers...cab drivers and pizza delivery people get robed and shot...

But where are the big long parades and fance para-miliary funerals for those people. they were also killed on the job.

If I were a cop and I was killed on teh job, I would not want some big deal of a funeral. Just have a regular funeral for my family and shut up about it

WE JUST HAVE TO REMEBER THERE IS ALWAYS A SERIES OF CONSEQUENCES WE ALL GO THROUGH. I BELIEVE HE IS NOW IN HEAVEN AND THAT NO ONE SHOULD HAVE DIED LIKE THAT!! HOWEVER; I DO KNOW THAT GOD WILL BRING EVERYTHING TO LIGHT AND THAT THOSE PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO FACE THEIR CONSEQUENCES FOR THE BAD CHOICES THEY MADE.
thank you for a voice of reason in this world of insanity may god bless you and your family

People just do not understand! When you are an employee of DOCS (no matter what rank you are or no matter who you are)- nothing you do is right. You are always between a rock and a hard place. If you try to help an inmate - than you are a bleeding heart. If you side with the Department - then you are some kind of inconsiderate monster. No one ever seems to be right. It is a thankless job! Just try and imagine some of these inmates (not all of them) walking the streeets - it would be like living in a third world country. Let's be thankful for the judicial system that we have - it may not always be the best but it is better than nothing!

And I side with the jail guards 100% on this issue.

Alot of people trash jail guards because they are less educated and fatter than real cops. And it is true that alot of them have that wanna-be cop syndrome.

Still it is a very difficlt job and the people who run the jails make them wait on the inmates like slaves by serving them food, cleaning up after them, fetching them asprin and sharpening their pencils.

But the topic of discussion is if volunteer firemen should be let into the the secure area of the prison when there are jail guards and nurses in there with MORE training than the volunteer firemen who cannot be trusted in the jail. The jail guards can give first aid and then wheel the con out to the volunteer firemen, so they can have a chance to drive them to the hospital and make funny noises with their sirens every time they come to an intersection

I wonder if these vollys flip a coin to see who gets to blow the siren, or is it a seniority thing?

My ex-husband is a volunteer EMT. You shouldn't gneralize everything Life Coach. He worked hard and trained hard to be who he is. Volunteers should be repsected for who they are and what they do for communities who can't afford full time firefighters and such. And the whistles aren't always blown. It depends on the nature of the illness or wound; depending on life and death.

I will take the annually trained RN in a prison to administer my first aid over a fat drunk Volly anyday. The annual training requirements for the prison personnel is more in depth than that of a volly fireman who just needs to learn to change over the new keg tappers and propane tanks for the grills

First of all Life Coach, you condemned other posting in this forum AND mine about what I said in regard to Dwights NYSDOC record was no part of the topic. You said the following;
Life Coach wrote:
<quoted text>The topic of sicussion os not about Dwight. He has does and here is no reason to pee on teh man's grave.
The topic of this discussion is whether volunteer firemen should be trusted to respond inside teh jail, and the answer is NO
Well Life Coach, how come you don't practice what you preach? I don't see your reply of; "So, as I suspected, you are DIVORCED. No wonder you hate the Catholic Church" being part of the topic here. It looks like to me your looking for a date… and where did the Catholic Church come in at? Just to remind you, in case you forgot, the topic is “First responders not allowed inside Wende Correctional Facility”... NOT looking for a date or commending a religion.

Please practice what you preach…

By the way, your spelling sux's...

I went off on a tangent becuase as a "Life Coach", I am here for a different reason than most people are. I could see that "Teacher" still had isues from being dumped by her husband and I was trying to "lubricate" the conversation so she could achieve "catharsis" and begin to heal from her tragedy.

And I dont see where you get the impression I am looking to make friends around here. Look back through my posts and you will see otherwise

First of all, NOBODY should be LIGHTING the fires. that is what is called "Arson" and it is against the law. Too bad somebody forgot to tell the volunteer fireman

The people who SHOULD be responsible for putting OUT the fires should be PAID PROFESSIONALS- nota bunch a yahoo amatures

My point is that ALL firefighters should be PAID. that is what makes them PROFESSIONAL

And I know paid firement set fires as a controlled burn to train. The problem is with the volunteers who set fires for sexual gratification and/or to make themselves look like heros
