When McCain chose Palin to be his Vice President, she was heralded as the poster child for religious-right conservative values. Though she is an ambitious woman, do not be mistaken, she does not support any progressive women's rights.
Governor Palin is an evangelical Christian, a life time member of the NRA and a card-carrying member of the religious right. She is against abortion and believes it should be banned for anything other than saving the life of the mother. She is against stem cell research, is against state health benefits for same-sex partners and believes creationism should be a part of the school curriculum.
She also favors abstinence-only training in lieu of sex education. There is plenty of documented evidence showing that this does not work including within her own family. Only education and contraception can prevent pregnancy; wishing that teenagers can put aside their hormones until marriage is not. Forcing a 17yr old to marry to remove the stigma of being an unwed mother is also not a solution.
Some other facts: Palin is under investigation for possible ethics violations; she has hired a lawyer so this is serious. She was also for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it. She also supports aerial wild-life hunting of wolves and bears; yes she enjoys shooting them from planes.
I know there are many Americans who support strict conservative ideals and this is fine but the rest of us prefer separation of church and state.

As one of those conservative maybe it is time we take back our country and we have more morals and values taught to our young. You want to stand for it is ok to KILL a BABY just because he or she hasn't been born yet. Your preach about choice, WHAT ABOUT THE BABY'S CHOICE? Ses Ed give me a break, it is more teaching our kids that sex is ok as long as you use protection, or how to have sex with the same sex partners. Sorry if some of us have issues with that. Yet in many of these schools the parents have no rights to pull thier kids from these classes. Where are the rights of these Parents?
How do you know she is forcing her daughter to have the baby, maybe her daughter made a choice. Maybe she made a mistake and does not wish to make another one. Last them I checked our constution gave us the right to bare arms. As a gun owner, I am not giving up my rights. Or are you one of those that thinks there will be less crime if there are no guns. Guess what only the honest citizens will turn in their guns, and crime rate will take off. She was under investigation, and was cleared. That guy was ticked at being fired, he tazered his ten year old step-son. Obama was a admitted druggie. Last time I checked drug abuse, Crack Cocaine was a crime!!! question how can u be against abortion totally with exception of saving a mothers life? what that moms life is more important the the babies life?? if pro life activist truly want to toss that junk around than u should clarify.. so 1st trimester is it ok if mommy is going to be saved?? what if it is 3rd trimester and baby will live but mom may die?? where is the line drawn for who's life to save mom or baby.. cause I will say if my baby would live even if I died.. I would still have that child.. I do believe in choice but it is not for me..
next question what if u were raped?? the emotional damage of a pregnancy than could but devastating to the women.. yes she could carry that baby being reminded every day for 9 months and place that child for adoption , than wonder for the rest of her life if she is ok and know in her head she gave birth to a child of rape.. and how can u justify that it is not ok to have an abortion but it is ok to kill an animal.. can u talk to them how do u know they do not have communication like we do as humans.. maybe that little cub in his den is upset cause u killed his mommy for a wall ornament.. get real everyone has a choice and if u get the right to bare arms and kill why is not ok for someone else to kill their unborn child?? anyway fact is for myself I would never abort just not for me and I know I could never forgive myself..I have had 4 beautiful children and wouldn't trade them for the world.. regulate abortion yes, limit it as far as using as a form of birth control but to rid entirely is wrong.. |

McCain chose Palin because she is almost like a "trophy wife". She draws attention and makes him look good. As for her credibility, I'd like to know if the rumor of her 4 month old child is actually her daughters. This would prove if she's a liar and is use to covering things up.

Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a “fiscal conservative”. During her 6 years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over 33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation (1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they benefited residents.
The huge increases in tax revenues during her mayoral administration weren’t enough to fund everything on her wish list though, borrowed money was needed, too. She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it with indebtedness of over $22 million. What did Mayor Palin encourage the voters to borrow money for? Was it the infrastructure that she said she supported? The sewage treatment plant that the city lacked? or a new library? No.$1m for a park.$15m-plus for construction of a multi-use sports complex which she rushed through to build on a piece of property that the City didn’t even have clear title to, that was still in litigation 7 yrs later–to the delight of the lawyers involved. While Mayor, City Hall was extensively remodeled and her office redecorated more than once. These are small numbers, but Wasilla is a very small city. As an oil producer, the high price of oil has created a budget surplus in Alaska. Rather than invest this surplus in technology that will make us energy independent and increase efficiency, as Governor she proposed distribution of this surplus to every individual in the state. In this time of record state revenues and budget surpluses, she recommended that the state borrow/bond for road projects, even while she proposed distribution of surplus state revenues: spend today’s surplus, borrow for needs. |
