Spending a day in the forest with friends or family is wonderful. There're lots of edible wild miushrooms, you just have to learn to recognize them. You can fry them, pickle them, conserve them in brine, saute them, dry them, etc. They're superior to anything you find at a supermarket or even at a gourmet or whole foods markets.
