I gotta say this....when I first looked at the woman standing next to McCain. I couldnt help but envision her swinging on pole pulling the bobbypins out of her hair and swinging her brown locks around. My brother agreed....she reminded him of a high class stripper.
Go Obama...this woman frightens me.
That's a pretty sexist view - and a pretty immature thought process as far as selecting a President/VP ticket!

Want to know what's even more immature? The right-wingers sexual attaction to Palin that blinds their own judgement. This isn't prom night and we aren't selecting a queen, this is the VP were talking about. If McCain picked Pamela Anderson for VP, they would still vote for him.

There is no question in my mind that to many liberals Obama is the politically correct candidate. I agree with republicans that he has very little real experience. But he isn't stupid.
Palin,on the other hand, may not have attended Ivy league schools, but she proved last night that she isn't stupid either. But the fact is neither one of them has the political experience to control congress.
There will only be one winner in this election and that's Nancy Palosi.
If there's going to be a lesser experienced person on the winning ticket, I'd rather it be on the VP side rather than the President himself. Besides, it sure looks to me like Palin has acquired quite a bit of experience in her 44 years.

I love how its mean and unfair to talk about Palin daughter, but its OK for Palin to bring up her son that is going to Iraq!
I guess you can only bring up your children if they can be used to further your political career.
Hey, wasn't it the Dems who criticized the Reps for not having their own children join the war as soldiers?! Now here is one who is encouraging and supporting her son for doing jsut that and the Dems like you STILL want to criticize?! You can't have it both ways - make up your minds!!!
BTW, two very different situations you brought up with your first sentence, VERY different!

Hey Chris- That question does not have to be asked when a man was the president because his WIFE was taking care of this kids. LOOK I hear your point but let's get real- mothers are the primary care giver. She has a 4 month old with a severe disability and 2 kids under the age of 11- the most percious and impressable years of their lives and she will be on a bus with Mccain for the next 60 days campaining non stop or representing America (if she wins) across the world. This is not a 9 to 5 job. All I am saying is that these children need their MOMMY - great dad is there however there is NO replacing mom and no replacing those precious years. Priorties need to be made hear and where her's lie is very interesting don't you think?
Oh really? Mothers are the primary caregivers? Are you living in the 60's my friend? I know plenty of families who are living in the real "Mr. Mom" world! Besides, I hardly think her kids would suffer - they'd actually be living closer to her workplace than they are in Alaska presently. I don't see her priorities as out of order at all. The father is perfectly capable of taking care of the kids, just as she is perfectly capable of balancing both lives. Sorry, yours is a very sexist attitude, one that belongs in the dark ages.

Please get you facts straight- Mr. Palin is NOT a stay at home dad he works for BP one of the biggest oil companies in the country. He took of a year when she became GOV. of Alaska but went back to work.
And he has stated that he is more than willing to be a stay at home dad should she be elected.

Who said anything about a sexual attraction? Do you even know if I am male or female? Her sex isn't blinding my judgement at all. I could care less if a candidate is male or female, black, white, red, yellow, whatever! It has no bearing in my eyes. Just as none of those things sways me toward a candidate, none pit me against them either. I've mainly heard right-wingers praising her abilities and accomplishments, oh and defending the sexist attacks against her, I've not heard any say they like her because she's pretty. However I have seen leftist bashers add to their comments "...but she is hot!" or "...but I'd do her!" So who are the immature ones here?

True Patriot...I am female and am not too impressed by Palin. I noticed that in my discussions about Palin the only women who like her are old, catholic/christian women. Not many "modern 30 somethings" have said they like her. Well, at least not the ones I have spoken with.

That's funny...my husband said she reminds him too much of Dustin Hoffman in "Tootsie," which for him is a turn-off. Also, he thinks she's always got her hair piled up on her head to hide the horns.

Yes, out of the one side of their mouths Republicans cry sexism. However, we don't hear them complain that Rush Limbaugh called her "hot" or that people at the RNC were wearing buttons reading "HOT VP" and "HOT CHICK."

May I ask:

Do people think Sara Palin is the "best" choice to be the Vice President of the United States?

Do you think she is the "most" qualified person to be Commander in Chief if McCain was gone?

Supporters opinions are welcome.

The answer is obviously no.
there are many more qualified republicans. She certainly gets points for conservative beliefs and tenacity, she gives away too much in education, and compared to other national figures, experience. As Vice President, it will be her job to advance the Executive agenda in the senate. It's my guess that two days after inauguration, her own party will cannibalize her. It won't be hard for life long politicians to muzzle this pit bull

7) She supports aerial shooting of bears and wolves in Alaska.
8) She is pro-war.
Gov Sarah Palin is just another corrupt politician who would be worse for the environment than even Bush and McCain.
All great points! But lets not overlook....

Her husband is unemployed and got a D.W.I.

Her kid is knocked up and out of wedlock.

Republicans are the "values" party? Spare me.

They are for the top 2% of rich white males.

She makes me sick.

This seems to be a popular blog sight. i need to know why the word 'vetting' is so GD used to the extent that it is.

FF players. You know what I mean. RB by committee
is oddly popular. Vetting. Palin. Vetting. Vetting. Palin.

Vetting.

See, I know what it means, but why this word now?
Why did everyone who is still hanging around with dick/george describe scott mclellond as 'odd'.

"Thats not the Scott I know".

"It's sad".

The Stepford wives agreed. Words and phrases shall be the norm. Ari, Condi, Karl, Dick, Rupert, the brainless thing that is currently playing Georgies mouthpiece (Scott and Ari's old jobs), I watch you.

America follows silly trends. As an American, I wish all readers of this understands what I mean.
Please, think for yourself.

Someone told me about this forum so I decided to read the comments.
Let me start by saying I am born and raised in Buffalo. I joined the Army at the age of 18. I spent 7 years living in Fort Wainwright Alaska. Some of those years were under Gov. Palin.
Did you know that she is for banning books in libraries? Censoring what our kids read? Who is she to say what my kid can read? Is that not my choice?
She is extremely Pro Life, wanted to make even medically necessary abortions illegal? Is that not a decision husband/wife or man/woman should make together? Who is she to say that a womans life is not important only a childs is?
She feels that god is her guide? He will stear her in all her decisions? And that all children should be forced to pray at school everymorning? I am jewish..why would I pray to a christian god?
She actaully accumulated more debt in Alaska than it had in a really long time.
My friends that still reside in Alaska think it is a joke that she was picked for VP. They dont think she is going to help this country at all.
I know I am going to get in trouble for this post but I really dont care. Until you have seen Palin in action, seen how she decides things, and been under her rule people really cant comment.
I witnessed all this and it was not pretty. Yes I do vote, but I vote for the best person not by party. And I dont think she is the best choice at all.
Happy Army Man,

I thank you for your service to this country. Yesterday I was driving to Lake Placid and was listening to POTUS 2008 on the satellite radio. POTUS 2008 is 24/7 election coverage. Now I don't pretend to know much about Alaska, so I have to defer to your opinions as you have been there. However, the pollsters on POTUS 2008 were indicating that Sarah Palin has a 86% job approval rating by Alaska citizens. Even if we took 20% off....that a darned high approval number. With regard to Alaska debt....I clearly do not understand. How can a State that distributes oil royalties to its citizens be in debt? Just a few thoughts.

Get Real,

Isn't that an incredibly sexist remark? Men are not suitable caregivers? Only "mommy" can do the job? This is an example of the partisan schlock that I despise. You and I both know that if Sarah Palin was a Democrat.....her priorities would never be discussed...and damned the poor Republican SOB who would even dare bring this line of scrutiny to a liberal/progressive female nominee. Let's just stop the dual standard nonsense. Stick with the issues. Stop using a special needs kid as a tool to question her priorities is a cheap-shot artists trick.
