It is ridiculous that all must suffer due to the mistakes of 2 people. Are we in grade school again? NY makes me sick with all its sophmoric decisions and now they have ruined it for the people that just want to go out, have a couple beers and enjoy some music. NYS lawmakers are a bunch of party poopers!!!

No they would make it so if you wanted to sleep in your car and be responsible you could do that without the threat of DWI. Believe me I know. I was busted for DWI in a parking lot I was sound asleep would never have woken up till morning. There is murder and attempted murder. Last time I knew Driving was an action word. They do not have attempted DWI. Luckily I got out of it cause I stuck to my guns and would not take a plea bargan of DWAI. They did not want to go to trial becasue I had a witness that would testify to the fact that I did not drive plus there was surveillance tapes showing that my car did not move. So they threw it out.

Anyways the bottom line is no concerts and that is sad. A lot of people were counting on the concerts.

But don't forget about Dock Side. They have great bands and it is right on the Canal.

Anne, the parents of underage drinkers are not the people that applied for the liquor license. When you apply for a liquor license, you agree to the rules set out by the State of New York. This includes the rule that you cannot sell alcohol to people under 21 years old. The law is very clear on this point. It is not the job of New York State to host a Loverboy or Rick Emmet concert, our job is just to make sure that the law is being followed.

It is just strange. If the sting took place on July 26th. Why did they wait till half way through the concert on August 2nd to stop beer sales. Well not my place to really make a judgement. I just was hoping to catch the last 2 concerts. So with that I retreat!

NY State law regarding the sale of alcholic beverages is strict for a reason. We do not want underage kids drinking. God forbid that an underage drinker got into an accident and killed themselves or someone else. New York State did not ruin it for everyone---the irresponsible people who's name was on the liquor license ruined it for everyone.

Well the beer sales is what pays for the concerts. I really donot care if they sell beer or not. But due to the fact that they are not selling beer they cannot pay for the concerts. Also if this incident happened on the 26th, why did they wait till the middle of the next concert to cut off the sales? Like I said punish those who are at fault, not the rest of the public.
PS...They knew since day one that Joan Jett was not coming due to the no compete clause. But they advertised it anyways. The replacement bands were good but come on.
Do not bother trying to reason with THELAW. They are so brainwashed and want to brainwash us also. Fact is the arab store on my corner sells to underage kids all the time. All the students at Kenmore East know where to go get beer. This is a known fact in Tonawanda. Do they ever do an underage sting on the Blvd. No! Why? Possibly because it would not make the news, or would not make the authorities look good to bust a little guy. The law is all under the table bullchit. I am involved with the law and see the behind closed doors deals made all the time. Especially if it involves one of there own.
They carefully planned this whole underage sting on the canal...

No one is punishing the public Anne, the New York State Liquor Authority is protecting the public by revoking the license of operators that are breaking the law. If you continually drove your car 100 miles per hour, your driving license would be revoked. This is the same thing. When you apply for a liquor license, the State of New York makes it extrememly clear that you cannot sell alcohol to people under the age of 21.
BLA BLA BLA.. You think these kids wont get alcohol somewhere else. BLa BLa. Puppet!

The law applies to anyone in New York State that is legally selling alcoholic beverages. We are looking for anyone who violates the law and illegally sells alcohol to minors.

The atmosphere is great at dockside, but the food and service is by far the worst in the area.

And they already had someone running the concerts there for years who knew what they were doing (people got proofed when they bought drinks tickets and had colored armbands for underagers) but Soos didn't want Kathy there anymore, so he brought in some "connected" friend to do the same thing that was already there. By the way, his reason was that the concerts got to be bigger than anticipated, then they do the same thing with just another promoter. NO SENSE unless you know the real story

You are correct, and if the people trying to run the show knew what they were doing, this wouldn't have happened in the first place
