Why ruin the fun for everyone! You have arrested the one's who sold the beer, why not give a warning or fine to the people in charge of the beer sales. Now Bruce Hornsby is moving to the Town Ball Room. Can you get there by boat? I have been waiting all summer for Lover Boy. I have even taken vacation time so I can make it a long weekend. I am a Boater and I look forward to the summer concerts. North Tonawanda and Tonawanda depend on the revenue from the Boaters. Other than Dock Side, what is the sense of going to the wall. I might as well stay at the Marina. It seems sad that you have to punish all of us for a few that do not follow the law.

It is ridiculous that all must suffer due to the mistakes of 2 people. Are we in grade school again? NY makes me sick with all its sophmoric decisions and now they have ruined it for the people that just want to go out, have a couple beers and enjoy some music. NYS lawmakers are a bunch of party poopers!!!

NY State law regarding the sale of alcholic beverages is strict for a reason. We do not want underage kids drinking. God forbid that an underage drinker got into an accident and killed themselves or someone else. New York State did not ruin it for everyone---the irresponsible people who's name was on the liquor license ruined it for everyone.

The persons in charge of the show have been known to get in trouble about this before. This is not the first,it just so happens they,SLA,decided to do something aboutit now because it was getting out of hand at the concerts.Besides the shows there this year have not been run anywhere as good as last year.

But who in the end really suffers. It is the public who enjoy the concerts. I know alot of people planned on heading down this weekend by boat to watch the concert. Now what? I will admit they need more security and they need to keep a better watch on who they serve. But why punish the rest of us.

Problem with this is they cant just bring anyone in at the last minute to run something of this size.It takes many man hours and people to pull off a show of this size properly. The people who won the contract in the first place were not the right choice. They have been run poorly from the get go.I do aggree with you Anne,we the public do suffer for it.I was looking forward to the Joan Jett concert.

The public is actually being protected because if an underage person was drinking at this concert, and then killed someone by drinking and driving, it would be horrible. You cannot serve alcohol to underage people. The concert can still be held, they just cannot legally sell beer.

thelaw,
so you're convinced that 2 or 3 underage drinkers have a better chance at dwi than the other 5,000 adults drinking combined? |
|
|
Well the beer sales is what pays for the concerts. I really donot care if they sell beer or not. But due to the fact that they are not selling beer they cannot pay for the concerts. Also if this incident happened on the 26th, why did they wait till the middle of the next concert to cut off the sales? Like I said punish those who are at fault, not the rest of the public.
PS...They knew since day one that Joan Jett was not coming due to the no compete clause. But they advertised it anyways. The replacement bands were good but come on. |

No one is punishing the public Anne, the New York State Liquor Authority is protecting the public by revoking the license of operators that are breaking the law. If you continually drove your car 100 miles per hour, your driving license would be revoked. This is the same thing. When you apply for a liquor license, the State of New York makes it extrememly clear that you cannot sell alcohol to people under the age of 21.

Isn't it also illegal to buy beer if you are not 21 years of age?

Yes, in New York State, it is illegal to purchase beer if you are under 21 years old. It is also illegal to sell beer to anyone under 21 years old. The law is extremely clear about these rules.

Ok so basically what you are saying is if I drive my car 100 miles per hour, my driving license would be revoked. So does that mean everyone elses will be revoked because of my mistake. We all know the drinking age is 21. Why doesn't the state hold the parents of the underages accountable. Have you seen the kids these days 14 year olds look like they are 21. Those who buy beer under 21 should be fined. Oh I forgot in this case it was a sting or what I call entrapment. So have the concerts and charge admission and do not sell beer but keep the concert where it is. If there is no Lover Boy or Rick Emmet concert then who suffers? Answer that "Thelaw" |

The cops find a couple of teenagers they have busted, who look like they are 25 yrs old, and send them in to buy a beer. They don't send in kids who look their ages. Cheap trick cops.

If "they" really wanted to stop DWI...."they" would make parking lots at bars illegal !
