It used to be just military types and bikers who got tattoos. Can someone please explain to me why so many women are getting them? Went to Darien Lake a few weeks ago and I could not believe what I saw!

Who in heck wants to defile a beautiful body ???? I think if god wanted me tatooed Id been born with it have fun

A tattoo is a form of expression or body art.
Done by a talented tattoo artist, it's like a fine piece of jewelry worn as a rememberance of a time or event or a loved one.
Tattoos can be crude, crass or beautiful....just like the woman wearing it.

And what the tattooee is saying is "I am a drug- abusing, cigarette-smoking, illegitimate child-breeding, high school dropout with a criminal record, bad teeth and bad credit..."

I know many beautiful professional woman with tattoos that are the complete opposite of your preconceived notion.
Sounds to me like you are a bit intimidated by strong independent woman.

MOST, not all, are so desperate to be recognized, they get a tattoo. It's a club that anyone can join. Once inked, they can easily identify and spot each other.

It's really idealistic to call it an expression of art. Most of the people with tats are searching for an identity.

Really? You are a prime example of a 'Psychosocial'... get with the times man. Everyone has their own way of expressing past experiences, love, etc..

Say for example...[b]John[/b]- I am a miserable person who calls one pitiful, and to enjoy lide as a carny. I bet John has a small male member who bought a Harley to feel the vibrations, and to see if his mushroom will come out of the ground.

I am NOT kidding

People who live certain lifestyles like to send signals to people with simialr lifestyles, so that can immediately recognize one another.
Some examples:

1. Cigarettes and women- There is an old expression about girls "If they smoke- They F$#%. When a guy sees a woman with a cigarette, he knows she is a risk taker and someone who began the habit as a youngster to get approval. These same girls also give away sex easily because they have low self-esteem and are looking for approval

2. Cigarettes and homosexuality. Most homosexuals smoke cigarettes and they use them to signal to other homosexuals. Make homosexuals will use feminine gesttres when they smoke and lesbians will will use masculine gestures.

3. Earrings on men- An earring or "stud" in the left ear signals cocaine use so the dealers know whom to approach. An earring in the right ear signals homosexuality. An earring in both ears signals homosexuality AND cocaine use

4. Tattoos signal all of the above
