Protester Elea Mihon said, "This country has entered into a largely war induced deficit and in America's second poorest city, Buffalo, he is here to collect a million dollars."

Would someone please tell that twit from the Peace Center that even though this is America's second poorest city, the money McCain collected were PRIVATE dollars from WILLING DONORS.

This may be true, but wouldn't that money be better served taking care of our own, instead of going into McCain's war chest? We have millions of hungry people here in the U.S. Shouldn't we at some point try to take care of them?

Frankly, I wouldn't contribute a dime to either McCain or Obama. However, people are free to do with their money as they choose (at least for now). If somebody wants to give money to McCain rather than the poor, it's their business entirely. With regard to hungry people in this country....we have a $3.1 TRILLION budget. With that budget everybody should be choking down steak and lobsters!

Bush has made the rich, GODS of wealth and intolerance for the less fortunate! This is how Bush lives and wants his cronies to live...on crappy ranches, like he has and thinks is great, and gated homes, away from the American majority!
McBush has a very wealthy wife and feels entitled to the best life, because he was a prisoner for 5 years. He chose this life, while ignoring the less fortunate, rather than seeing his capture and imprisonment, as an awakening, to bring those imprisoned by the tremendous disparities in this country, methods of rescue, rather than a war against their misfortunes!
McBush could never serve as my commander in chief!

Wow, Hooligan! Reduced to name calling? That shows a real lack of intelligence. Maybe if those "private donors" donated some of that million here, some local families could be helped.

John McCain came to Buffalo to entice wealthy people to donate to his campaign, which does not cause me a problem. It does cause me a problem that he did not so much as acknowledge the rest of the citizens in WNY. Does he know that we vote or does he not give us that much credit?

The 61 year old librarian who was booted from a McCain Town Hall meeting was merely carrying a sign -silently- that read McCain equals Bush. She was told she would be arrested if she returned. McCain would certainly be bad for human rights and the right of free expression. McCain has proven himself to be unable to manage his anger and allow others to have opinions. Ask his fellow Senators. McCain can't lead himself, much less our Country.

Many of those in attendance DO give money to local needy and charities also. It's their money to do with as they please, isn't it?

And to the protesters I ask: How exactly do you think you gained this right to protest freely, freedom of speech, etc.? Many of our rights and freedoms were gained or protected through war. A bit hypocritical of you, don't you think?

Actually if you had all the FACTS (which seem to slide by so many like you) you would know that McCain's wife keeps her finances separate from her husband's. You would also know that he McCain's are EXTREMELY generous donors and always have been to many various charitable organizations across our contry and beyond. Read up a little instead of listening to the liberal psycho-babble, you may actually learn something real truths rather than continuing to rely on rumors and half-truths.

Guess what, Obama does the SAME thing in other cities! It's the way politics works, and pretty much always has. So he didn't stop to talk, so what? Mr. Obama doesn't stop to talk to the public in every city he visits either!

Well said, Jennifer, but don't try to convince liberals of this. Especially the limo riding, Hollywood jet setting, cocktail party attending liberals. Clearly, they're well qualified to lambaste those country club conservatives who can't help but enjoy a little perk or two after EARNING their money.

I would like an indepth explanation of your statement.

It seems the most over weight people live in the poorest states or in the poorest neighborhoods of the major U.S. cities. Which doesn't add up with your statement.

Millions hungry ?

Do you mean those standing inline now at Micky D's for lunch to add to the 2000 calories they already comsumed today as in stomach says " Stuff me again"and add another 2000 calories ?

Are you trying to indicate MILLIONS of U.S. citizens because of their financial situation are subsisting on less than 1800 calories a day ?
Or how about 1200 calories a day ?

BTW, I also would like to see the costs of war decrease but the MILLIONS HUNGRY hasn't really flown for decades.
