The bus driver, coaches and school district are all responsible for what turmoil occurred on this bus. We are not talking about responsiblity 24/7 we are talking about the timeframe that children are left in their hands.
Every child has a right to go to a school function or participate without being harrassed. As much as you have the right to go to work everyday and not be sexually harrassed. Your work environment is responsible for your safety. If they do not do their job to prevent it, fines are in place, jobs can be lost and they could face charges. Why would this be any different then holding teachers/school district or a bus driver accountable for actions that take place in their presence?
Lastly, your kids receiving conflicting stories? Your listening to them too! Why not teach your kids NOT to listen to gossip. If the incident happened in Wilson and your Kids go to Lockport how much of the truth do you really think floats in the other school districts? Why not teach them that IF they are ever witnessing an event so wrong to do the right thing and bring it to someones attention? There is a value in lessons that we as a parent could teach our kids through this so that another child could be protected, more so then listen to gossip to try to decide if it is fact or fiction. Don't waste time in expressing thoughts that are more in left field than in reality.
