If the Grandmother is not reliable why was she entrusted with the defenseless 2 year old? Hope turns out well for both. Maybe this family needs to consider a babysitter for both of them. Kentucky Ave is way far from High School Road.

You know the one where they were found out. I didnt see anywhere in the article that it said that the grandmother wasnt reliable. Maybe just maybe this is the 1st time this had happened. Unfortunate...YES...but they were found and are alright. Please..when you make your comments..be a little more knowledgable than what you think you are!

NORTH High School Road, as in North of 38th street.(4700 block) The gas station(4610 Kentucky) is just south of 465. Whoops. Hope they'll be ok.

I'll bet that we could find a some issues with you and your responsibilities as well. Don't judge, it is not your place and you don't have any facts.

You folks need to look at a map. If you know anything about these parts of town consider this. High School road is split 3 times and does not connect. ie. at 38th street, Washington street and near Kentucky Ave. You figure it out. All are within a short distance of 465. It could be easily confused by someone who doesn't drive these areas on a regular basis.

Yes this could have been the first time something like this had happened. The grandmother could have had some alheimers symptoms going on for while but hid it very well. There are lots of cases where this happens. The parents could have known nothing more than she is her grandma and she will be safe. The article does not go into great detail about anything, so noone really knows the circumstances behind anything. I just hope they both turn out OK and the grandma gets the kind of care that she will need if she does have some kind of dementia setting in. Thankfully the wonderful person that had watched the news called the authorities.

Just another reason why young children SHOULD-NOT be left with the elderly. She could have been reliable, BUT still, there comes an age were you can't be sure anymore!! This is not being "mean" or "rude". Its called being a responsible parent!!

The lady has been to the doctor on a regular basis and has not been diagnosed with any symptoms of Alzheimers. The family is in contact with her every day and lives only a few doors from another family member. Trust me...things will change.

Awesome..It's so amazing that we still care and watch for each other. I like that police incourage us now more then ever to be "our brothers keeper" I just hope that they are as agressive about helping colored people as they are white. Never know one day it might be me or one of my family in need.

Do the people leaving these posts have jobs??? Really, think about it. Maybe they could volunteer their time to baby sit instead of using these posts to interact in lives they have never known!

Highschool rd. crosses Kentucky Ave at a Stop light. There is a McDonalds on the right hand side and a gas station on the other. It also crosses Washington st. at another light where there is a Target Store and a gas station. I hope all are well.

i wounder if maybe the grandmother is in the "first" stages of Alzheimers. my grandfather had Alzheimers and when he was first dignosed, he was doing things that we thought were "normal" for him but acutally he was in the "first" stages of the disease. My prayers go out to the family, my grandmother keeps my children whi are actually her great-grandchildren. things happen, just pray for the grandmother and seek the doctor.

Medical conditions (ie. strokes) can happen to you whether you are 6 or 76. Things happen and not every risk can be guarded against.
Rather than writing mean-spirited comments, just thank God they were found safe!

I work on an alzheimers unit and even some of them can trick you some days, especially right after admit. With some elderly, its hard to tell. You just have to put trust where it deserves to be and hope for the best.

With the elderly anything can cause confusion, dementia ect. Kidney infections are one trigger, Parkinsons another, Low blood sugar another. Once a person reaches a certain age, their body reacts different to things than it once did. A med change can create confusion. Maybe she missed a dose and that was a result. But to me the bottom line is, Will the family continue to let her drive??? I would hope not,not just for others safety but for her own as well.
