I life in West Lafayette & was awakened at 5:38 a.m. this morning. My bed was shaking violently, as was my dresser. I saw my picture frame move from the back to the front of my dresser. I called for my husband and he came in. He felt the shaking, too. Of course, I made him get the laptop to see if we had an earthquake.(Otherwise, we were calling our nearest priest!) Anyway, I'm officially awake now.

I'm used to earthquakes in California... but I have to say it was creepy experiencing an earthquake in a brick house. It seemed like I could hear the mortar cracking between the bricks!

Good morning, I was awake when I started feeling the house shake. My husband was leaving for work and said he felt it too. We do not have any damage that I have found, but we do live in Brown County at Sweetwater Lake, and we have many trees that I will have to check. I will let you know if there is any damage found outside after the sun rises.

I live in Russiaville, IN. Just a few minutes west of kokomo. I was awaken by the earthquake this morning. My bed was rocking back and forth. Everything in my room was shaking. My first thought was a tornado. Just thought I would let you know that we could feel it up north, too.

Very exciting! It woke us up! You could hear rumbling outside and the mirror attached to the dresser shake. No damage at this point.

I felt it too. At first I thought it was wind, but thought How does a house shake that long without falling down? It seemed to last atleast a minute. I though I was dreaming. My cat had waken me up about 20 min. before it happened meowing weirdly and is still freaking out.. A few things fell off shelves but we all are o.k. Good to know I am not crazy , the house really did move. Amanda

I was awake laying on the floor when I started feeling the earthquake. I am in Blooming andmy son is in Vincennes. He said their books fell on the shelves and their beds moved across the floor a little. I just wonder how strong their shakes felt like down there compared to ours since they are closer the the epicenter.

Me and a co-worker felt the earthquake in Greensburg, IN. The walls, floors and furniture were shaking for about 15-20 seconds. We looked at each other and made the comment "You know, noone is going to believe us when we tell them this happened." We found out we weren't imagining things when a couple more co-workers said they felt it too, and then it was confimed on TV.

Our family lives in the area of 86th and Lafayette Rd. Our family of four was all asleep at the time and were all waken up by the earthquake. Even my two teenage children. I got up running to get everyone to the basement as I thought we were getting hit by a bad storm. I ran to the door to check the weather and it was perfectly calm, that is when i realized that it had been a earthquake.
