The only thing that is more of a joke than Don Davis are his prices.

Based upon my previous experiences with you, I would happily loan you one.

But only for that sole intention.

Don as usual is off the mark. Fear has nothing to do with it. I am armed, therefore I am not afraid. I am trained, therefore I am ready if I need to defend myself and family. We never lock up our guns. We prefer to have them available. Our kids, now 18 and 13 each have their own handgun. Before, they were trained to respect them and not play with them. quite right re responsibility. As you continue to skew reports concerning guns, I would remind everyone that over 2 1/2 million people's lives are saved each year by having guns available. Not registered nor 'permitted'. That's infringement.

I used to live in Indy years ago and it was high crime then. I was scared of going out to shop then. I don't blame people for buying guns for their protection. I have friends there and they say it is bad!!! People need to get jobs and then they wouldn't be stealing and killing people (maybe).

That's part of the problem-the jobs are leaving. The jobs they can get don't pay enough or don't offer enough hours. It's not the only problem-there are many other contributing factors, some of which are the result of certain choices made by the jobless individual but lack of employment opportunities is a part of it.

As a 32 year police officer working the west side-Mars Hill/East side 42st/Post Rd. crime is every were.More than 2 dozen times I saw a legally armed and trained civilan use a gun to save his or her life.Yes crime is up I worked homicide, drug units and burglary as a detective. During this time it was not cheap handguns, high priced handguns, but people who took the time to learn how to shoot the right way who were saved from thugs trying to do them harm or harm family members.Does anyone else still remeber Gary-Lake county 14 years ago when mayor and sheriff refused to issue gun permits ? Mayor of Gary had to call in state police to patrol because murder was out of control, now Gary has seen murder drop by over 25% this year, ever wonder why? The Supreme Court has affirmed the right to keep and bare arms for protection. As a police officer who worked the mean streets of Indy, yes you do need a gun now, sorry to say the crime rate will only get worse until courts and people learn to protect themselves.

I am an old gezzer. I live alone. It is sad to see that two other old gezzers have been murdered in the last month. The young punks see us as easy prey. But, Sam Colt made all men equal. Go armed at all times. The young punks are in for a surprise if they mistake me for easy prey. I would suggest that you all do the same. Buy a gun, get some training, practice and be proficient. And, you better hurry up because once Obama takes office you will not be able to buy guns.

Some people I know have suggested that we use our free government hand out tax rebate that our grand children will pay someday to buy guns and ammo. Senator B. Hussein Obama has said that only the police should have hand guns and he is against gun owner ship in general. He hides his real thoughts by saying he is against assault weapons. What is an assault weapon? What ever they want it to be. The assault weapon stuff is just a ploy by the left wing liberal Democrats to get all your guns. I would encourage you to stock up on ammo and buy a gun. Learn how to use it. Keep it handy. We are living in what will become known as the last of the good old days.

straight from the first two paragraphs from this story...

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)- The rash of violence on Indianapolis streets has prompted some Hoosiers to find ways to stay safe. Some citizens are buying handguns. One Hoosier said he's not safe without one.

Metro detectives are working overtime to stop gun violence but at the same time, Hoosiers are buying more guns to stay safe.

Either you didn't read the article or you are just dumb/numb in the head.

Lack of employment? The same people who are sucking the welfare system dry. Are the same people who didnt work 5 years ago or 10 years ago. Jobs are out there, but you have to go and get them.

I like the fact that legal citizens are exercising their right to own a firearm but why does everyone go to Don's Guns???? The guy gouges all his prices and doesn't have a very good selection to begin with. He preys on first time buyers that have no idea what they're doing. And this is despite all his past shady dealings. If you want a quality gun at a decent price, go to Elmore's Firearms off 135 in Greenwood. I have bought several firearms and a lot of ammunition from them and have always gotten a good deal. FYI: I don't work for them. Just trying to save people a lot of money and trying to prevent this crook from getting any more business.

Yes...and Gander Mountain is a good place as well...talk about a rifle and shotgun selection...pretty impressive.
I bought a used Glock .40 that was a pretty good deal...but I think I'm going to trade it in on a new Berasa .380. It is a little more compact and lighter weight.

LOL...not related at all. The murderers and criminals dont purchase the guns they use to committ crimes at the store and register them. Crime rate is up so people are looking for protection!! Outlaw guns and only outlaws will have them!!! Summertime and the killin' is easy!!
