Full story: WFMZ 9
Our latest storm may be mild compared to last week's winter wallop, but that's little consolation for those who are still in the process of digging out. Full Story

ALLENTOWN HAS NEVER PLOWED MY ALLEY. I WOULD HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF LETTING IT MELT BEFORE THEY GET HERE. THE PLOWING OPERATIONS IN ALLENTOWN ARE TERRIBLE. I HAVE OVER 15 YEARS EXPERIENCE PLOWING AND REMOVING SNOW SO I CAN SAY THEY SUCK. THEY ALLEDGEDLY SENT THE CREWS TO "SNOWPLOWING SCHOOL" A FEW YEARS BACK. I GUESS THEY ALL FAILED.
ALLENTOWN WOULD BE BETTER OFF FINANCIALLY AND THE LEVEL OF SERVICE WOULD INCREASE IF WE GOT PRIVATE CONTRACTORS IN HERE TO HANDLE IT. AS FOR THE SEIU YOU ARE A WASTE AND 2ND RATE UNION WHICH MOST IF NOT ALL THE PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEES BELONG TO. GET SOME REAL UNION GUYS IN HERE LIKE THE TEAMSTERS OR OPERATING ENGINEERS TO SHOW YOU HOW ITS DONE.

A-town does not even plow my parents street half the time and that is considered a secondary road. Their street looks like the picture of the alley above. it was not plowed after the storm stopped.

Someone with authority should come drive the side streets in Bethlehem. They are in horrendous condition and most are in neighborhood schools. Even had to call the Bethlehem police last night because a motorist got stuck on a side street. I imagine the Bethlehem Police has been fielding many calls as the City of Bethlehem has been closed for the weekend and the holiday.

this article is a joke right? I have NEVER seen a plow in any alley by my house, my neighbors and I always have to ply the alley behind us, one of the alleys next to my house is still impassible, heck I only got my street plowed yesterday and it was only one pass!

To everyone complaining about getting your street or alley plowed, you should realize that if you want it done faster it will mean a tax increase.

Well, it's the 18th now and still nothing. Major streets north of Tilghman are still mostly 1-1.5 lanes wide. You have to pull over to allow an oncomming car to pass - and hopefully, you don't get stuck when you do. Heaven forbid you throw snow in the street or don't shovel your walks... we, as citizens, would get fined. So, who polices and fines the city when nothing is done and the "balancing act" falls on its face? I would settle for an occasional sprinkling of salt to melt the top 6 inches of compacted snow and ice. Well, another example of government mis-management. Tax us some more, maybe Allentown will clear a few more streets.
